Back from Florida, burned to a crisp

Better watch out for Canadians - I hear they like a nice roasted Diplomat for lunch.

We are now 26k from #7. My lady Marquesa, have the sailors pulled out of port yet? So to speak...

Well... truth be told... It is difficult at times to restrain ourselves from a snack or two. Diplos, G-men, Jedi bits... even Pirate chips... mmmmmm.... FOOD! You'll note please that we equal opportunity snackers... eh?

Now if we coiuld just catch the d&mn Spymaster... Life (or Death) would be all good.

What are snackers? Snack-eating people or soon-to-be-snack people?

#2556  by Citizen damoose - 4/26/2004 8:47:31 AM

Snack-eating people

Well... I'm not sure about the people part... but snackers are the snack-eating UnDead.

soon-to-be-snack people

No such thing as soon-to-be-snacks... All snacks are snacks... just not snacked upon as of yet.

LUNCH!

Could you please explain this? I have problem to understand it. Maybe a word is missing.

#2558  by Veteran Grand_Admiral_Thrawn - 4/26/2004 9:47:49 AM

He meant that they are equal opportunity snackers, which means that they do not discriminate, or single out individuals, whom they snack on.

Senators, please stop by the Senate Chambers to look at something I have posted.

Ok. Now I see which part of the sentence I didn't understand: the term "equal opportunity". And a verb was missing. And since "equal" could also be a verb, no wonder I have some problems to understand the sentence as the UnDead consider everyone they saw that aren't UnDead as fair game for lunch.

#2561  by Veteran Grand_Admiral_Thrawn - 4/26/2004 9:59:28 AM

Yep, that's pretty much it.

The sailors are all gone.

I have rejoined.

Sunbirned skin is just that... a burn.
Not a lot you can do for it, apart from using cold water to relieve the pain.
You can get a mildly anesthetic cream that will also relieve the pain.

Sunburn is a really bad idea.
It permanently damages your skin and makes it more susceptible to melanomas later in life.
A bit like smoking...it seems a good idea at the time.

Sorry, I am beginning to sound like your Mum.

It is just that Perth WA is the skin cancer capital of the World. I have seen plenty of it.

#2568  by Veteran Grand_Admiral_Thrawn - 4/26/2004 6:27:29 PM

Yeah, luckily I only go out in the sun a few times a year, and only rarely do I go out long enough to get burned. But when I do stay out for a while, regardless of precautions, I always get burned. And my grandfather got skin cancer, so I know of the threat. I will deal with when I am forced to, if ever.

Glad to have you back Marquesa. Bumped us to 7th! WOO!
