Really early here. Clock reads 1:41.

Had a game done, but I messed up. I was ~500 short of the 60K, so I went back and tried again, but didn't submit. Well, I tried three times, and the game won't submit. Oh, well. Going to try again for game #800.

News from around the world:
Ack, here in Kansas City we just get hit with a flood. I have 3-4 feet of water in my basement, and we are on top of a hill.

Sorry to hear that Kaz. Any serious damage?

The water is slowly going down. It looks like the washer and dryer, the furnance, the water heater, and a kiln may all be ruined. But we are keeping our spirits up. There are other parts of the city that were hit much worse. So we are keeping that in mind. The cats are going nutty, their boxes were down there, but I made a couple make-shift boxes for them on the first floor. I was wondering what they were whinning about in the middle of the night.

Sorry to hear that Kaz...hope things get dried out soon. I knew there were some severe storms out there, just didn't know how severe. We've got rain coming in this evening here in Virginia.

We are all fine, I little upset, of course. Just called the insurance people, we are not covered for this. We really never anticipated this. We live in the highest elevation in the city, plus the house itself is 24 feet up higher than the street itself. But the rain came down so fast and quickly it ran down the outside back basement steps and the drainage couldn't keep up with it.
But we are fine. It all will all work out.

Brunch is the word, that way rhymes with lunch and munch and crunch.

Ah, must be a Guardian word as that is what they do to the Yor

I hope you all don't have the same problems.

We've had rain off and on here in Tennessee, usually torrential amounts, but never for long.

But as long as nobody is hurt, everything can be replaced.

Glad to hear that everything is OK Kazz.

I'm sorry Kaz. I just keep thinking of the poor cats.

Meow! (All right, who's the practical joker that put 3 feet of water over my litter box)

Meow meow! (This isn't funny guys...)

Hope everything's OK, and that the mess afterwards isn't too bad.

All Diplomats

Following our recent poll about posting a link in our posts to the empire website, the votes are all in and the decision was a unanimous decision to do this. Therefore from now on please post the following at the bottom of your posts in any other thread than this one.

The Diplomats (link to website) - Active! ~ Not Reactive!

Hopefully this will not be seen as a recruitment pitch, just as a way to promote our services. Especially now!!

Well, we can't do the color. Should we try something without color, or is it OK without the color?

#3069  by Senator Drengin - 5/19/2004 4:20:19 PM

fine without the color Just use some sort of dividing line between the post and the link.

You know, Kaz, I've got a spare TS around here. Want to use it on your insurance company? We already got a phone company, but we need more evil corporations!

Not a lot of point.
They will tell you that GOD and not Global warming did it, so they are not going to pay.

Thanks everyone for the support!

We got the water out (pump). What a mess, though. eeeyuk. I got the water heater up and going. I'm going to give the washer and dryer a couple more days to dry out, the electrical parts are in the back near the top, so hopefully those will be ok, too. I have a giant humidifier going to get the rest dryed up.

Funny thing. The cat box appearently floated to the top with the water, laugh. So the litter isn't even damp. But I guess it may be awhile before the cats will go down there with the floor still damp, you know how much cats love water, grin.

Again, thanks guys!

That's amazing. My luck, it would have spilled, then all the little kittie tootsie rolls would have spread about the basement. Glad things are starting to look up for you.
