I am resigning as editor to the weekly newsletter. My apologies. I hope my replacement will enjoy the position as I once did.

Following the sudden and unexpected decision by Kaz to leave his position as news editor i am promoting VoT to Editor. I will also be looking for a new reporter to assist him. New thread to be raised in the SH 'Empire Votes' section for any member wishing to undertake this role. All that is required is for you to help with the weekly news and in the event that VoT is unable to update it for the week, you would be required to step-in. All empire members are welcome to apply.

~~RIP Ronald Reagan~~

As a mark of respect to the passing of ex-president Ronald Reagan, the Diplomats logo has been changed to that of the American flag. This will remain in place for the next 48 hours.

Whilst I understand that not all people will mourn his passing, i believe this planet is that much of a safer place due to his dedication to nuclear disarmament.

I can't say I liked him or his politics, but he did do something for the world. The Cold War might never have ended if he hadn't terrified and bankrupted the Russians.

Rest in Peace Ronald Reagan.

I tend to agree with cactoblasta, I was never a big fan either, but none-the-less I have some respect for him.
My sympathies to him, his wife, and his family for having to endure the terrible disease that took him.

Hey diplomats, thanks for the sympathy for Ronald Reagan, he was one of my favorite presidents.

I actually just wanted to pop over to say I really like your new symbol, it's great to see that you're being so patriotic. It means a lot especially when America is at war like now.

Well done and I agree totally with your comments.
I am tempted to rejoin the Diplomats early to show my support.

Just to add one little thing: some members of this empire aren't americans, like our emperor, cactoblasta or me. So we aren't especially patriotic. We are just showing respect.

One of the greatest achievement of President Reagan was his effort to bring down the iron courtain and the Berlin Wall, coming from a country which still stands behind the iron courtain (Cuba) I really have a lot of respect for the guts and courage of President Reagan, my condolences to the Reagan's family.

I wouldn't say that Cuba is entirely behind the iron curtain - they have some really cool nightclubs, and their cocktails are awesome. Also, I kind of like being able to bribe police etc with US dollars in order to get out of hefty fines or being beaten up - kind of like the AIs on crippling!

I used to down to Miami to disco with the Cubans, a lot of fun!

By the way, does anyone have anything to pawn?
