Hey all! Thank yous for the welcomes!
My name is Brian, I've been playin' GalCiv for about a while now. I'm fairly new to the metaverse. I've read the diplomats threads and you guys seem like a good bunch o' people so I decided to join yer ranks!

Why wouldn't we welcome you? We are always happy when new people join the community. That and you play a lot of games. Wow. I should probably get off my rear and play one.
And we are a great bunch of people. We also talk a lot in the Embassy now. Great place, and we have emoticons!

I'm so happy you found us, Trinox. What do you think, DW?
(liberally borrowing lines from my favorite movie, "Bladerunner"...)

I think I'm sort of addicted.

Take a look at when I started playing. But that was what, 5 months back? This is the longest I have ever played a game constantly I think. This place, and our empire has quite a draw.

I don't know answers, I just do eyes. You Nexus, huh? I design your eyes |
|
"Chew, if only you could see what I've seen with your eyes."
And one of the most famous lines (if not the most famous): "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time - like tears in rain. Time to die." -Roy Batty, Replicant: Nexus-6.
By the way, if you liked the movie, then you have got to read the original script. It is significantly different than the movie. I'd like to get a group of Bladerunner groupies together to discuss this original script. You can read it here: Link

Morning/evening everyone. And welcome to Trinox. I haven't been playing Galciv very long either, so it's good to know I'm not the only new guy.

Thank yous for the welcomes! |

Wow, I can tell you are from Connecticut. You even type like you have a New England accent. Oh, and I used to live just outside Groton before you ask.

I must have it bad.

|
Let me guess, you say 'idea' 'idear'
| |
|
All you Americans have weird accents. All nasal or drawling - there are only three English accents which sound "right", and they are city-Australian, "English" English and French.
Anything else is uncivilised.

|
So you say the Croc Hunter is civilized?
But just curious, have you ever heard a Midwestern non-accent or flat accent?

In one fell swoop, he managed to bash Americans, Canadians, Irish, Indians(the Asian variety), New Zealanders, Bahamans, Welsh, and Scots.
Not very diplomatic!
