Exactly Mindshock. We are using Red Hat Linux on this one. And it will be made up of that PII and a few PIs.
| |
Ah, we already got Linux. Just started the first computer yesterday. Thanks though.

All right. Signing off for now. Bye guys.
Nice to see you join us here too Kaz.

Best is MS Photo Editor. Default is MS Paint (awful)
| |
It wasn't Microsoft Photo Editor? That one comes with many editions of Microsoft Office.
| |
Everybody knows what a Beowulf Cluster is, right? |
So tell me, WHY is it named after the Norse hero?
| |
Yes i think it may have been. |
Then the first thing you should do is to find out if MS Photo Editor is on your computer.
Look and see if you have a file:
c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\photoed\photoed.exe
| |
no. not got it and all software is pre loaded onto MF disc.) |
Very bad. And did you just happen to install Microsoft Office 2003 recently?
| |
Aha! And did this editing of graphics files disappear about this same time?
| |
Do you want to hook up paint shop pro 5 to your menu then? Or did you prefer photoed?
Because with Office 2003, Microsoft did a bait and switch. Installing Office 2003 *deletes* Microsoft Photo Editor from your system. photoed.exe has gone the way of the dodo.... unfortunately. (I liked it too)

I can find you a copy of the old photoed.exe on the internet somewhere if it is a musthave.
