Make note: Red ball + Torian Rear End = A Very Funny & Bloated Torian.

Ah... So that's the origin of 'put a cork in it'...

Question: For those of us that go for military victories via culture influence, do you make allies as you go along? Seems to be a double edge sword, if I ally with an AI my relations are better, but, if they go to war with someone, that someone, usually Torians, will come straight for my bases.

Morning Kaz... And give the man the cupie doll. I don't do alliances anymore for exactly that reason. I buy up influence resources and run throught the influence tech.

Then I alpha strike the last two or three worlds that haven't flipped. Just to end the tedium of the end game.

I could buy an alliance much earlier but then I'd miss out on eradicating the ETs.

Thanks, damoose! Morning to you as well, buddy. You technique sounds good!

What I am finding, the less communication with the AI's, the better.

If I just do my own thing, and let them battle amongst themselves, the better outcome for me.

Morning Kaz... And give the man the cupie doll.

one of my best friends wants a cupie doll, she's wanted one since she was a little girl...of cours she'd sell it as soon as she got it but she'd enjoy it for the hours/days/weeks she owns it

If I just do my own thing, and let them battle amongst themselves, the better outcome for me.

i find on maso that's good for the first several years...but once you encounter 1 alien race i push hard to find the rest so i can control the galactic relations, an idle ai is a rather chaotic ai: they can declare war at any time...in fact i've met ai's that declare war on me without a greeting or went to war with them with a war event before i met them.

Just wondering when our deputy reporter was planning on releasing the new news-flash? I could have sworn that it was due on monday......

#2136  by Veteran Grand_Admiral_Thrawn - 4/14/2004 8:58:47 AM

Well, I didn't know if you still wanted one, since Kaz had done such a good one so recently. I thought that we were to only keep it one the main page.

Will do. Trying to think of something now, but it is 8:30 here, and I am in class. Drawing a blank.

Never mind, got an idea. I think I will draw on Gerakken's great report, and have a battle.

Well done! Great line: "We are the Future. Don't get caught in the past." Superb!

Ok, this may sound really wierd, but can somebody try to log off of GalCiv? I can't. Not at school, or at home. Problem seems to exist on IE, and Netscape. Also, I occasionally get a failed login on different computers, but I am still logged in.

#2145  by Veteran Disciple777 - 4/14/2004 12:31:25 PM

THAT IS THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD!

but things are sure to follow...!

btw wotts you don't need to log off if you clear the cookies since the cookies are what log you in automatically, i couldn't find a solution to the problem overall, although i didn't contact the site's tech support, but SD Central seems to have fixed the problem for me over the last week.
