I was in band. We went to NY and Toronto for our trips. It was fun. I stole orange road cones from both places.

Oh, yeah, it is a high school marching band, and we do concert on the side, but we really suck at it. Marching, since we got our new director my freshman year, and since then we have gone from the worst (AA State my 8th grade year, dead last) to this year, my senior year, getting 5th out of about 30 at AA State. We got cheated out of the top, politics.

Oh, and we used to steal things from games, competitions, until we got caught.

We had one of the huge barrel cones, a few smaller ones, chairs, actually you name an inconsequential object, and we probably stole it.

We got caught when one of our members last year decided to go INSIDE a school wearing a band T-shirt (Tye-Dye for our show, the Who's Tommy), and somebody noticed him. Since we were the ONLY ones wearing tye-dye, it wasn't hard to get us.

Marching Baritone. Actually our drum line won best in state. We are a small band of about 70. The other school, the one who beat us unfairly, was expected to win. When the called us, you saw them just deflate.

Dang straight! Geeky, weird, but very happy. Doesn't get closer than a marching band. We actually decided to go commando for our last show, second round, finals. It seemed to help.

Same here (I'm 35 now). I played the bells/zylophone/marimba in the drum line.

Actually I really enjoyed band, made some close friends, and got to travel all the time.
