Dear Honorable Overlords of the Canadian Star Federation,

With the dawning of a new forum for interempire communications you would of course understand the great need for “security”. In similar fashion to “donations” made to G.R.O.S.S. within the Galactic Forum, “peace” will be assured with the continued transfer of “contributions” to the Most Humble Empire of G.R.O.S.S. Standard Operating Procedures will remain in place:

1. Identify freighters ferrying beer with brown markings.
2. Identify freighters ferrying wine with red markings.
3. Identify freighters ferrying liquor with bright neon markings.
4. Identify freighters ferrying illegal alien pornography with green markings.
5. Sail your freighters with minimal escort.
6. Greet G.R.O.S.S. raiders with a smile, not razor sharp hockey sticks.

ARRRGH!!! Consider yourselves “advised”.

That's good to know Technician.

Good to see you back safe and sound.

I hope our Emperor has a chance to drop by this weekend. Along with some of our fellow CSFers.

It'll be party time in the Halls. The only thing I ask is that you bring some extra snacks. Oh and gag'um will you all the noise gets a little tiresome at LUNCH!

Ah... Kit... We always greet 'party favours' with a simle. It a prelude of sorts... To LUNCH!

And could you explain 2 things to me please?
First... why no special markings for ummm... snacks?
Second... why would you think we need razor sharp hockey sticks? We like our snacks moist and cutting them up lets all the fuilds out.

Played BETA 2 got everybody aligned and found out
all the winning conditions were reset.

But a new BETA came out last night and
the AP new Beta is excellent.

Played 6 hours not a crash,
and the disappearing ship bug is gone

One things that changes game play.

The more starbases you build the more it costs.

I like it even as a Beta I nolonger see hundreds of starbases all over the place.

The new races are great.

The biggest challange I have is Minors do not trade.

So... Guys... I was out in the neigbourhood inviting guests... for the dedication of the new Halls by the Emperor. Should have a fresh load of snacks anytime now.

So Technician. Tell us more about AP...

I'm curious about the new races, ships, and basically, improvements to the basic game we've all been quite taken with for the last 6-9 months...

I've always found just 5 races to be kind of small in the very large (huge and gigantic) universes. I still think 7 races in a gigantic universe is small. I'd prefer to see 30-40 races start and then eliminate each other until only a few exist. Of course, the minors that expand are supposed to help with this I guess, but it's not quite what I had in mind.

I don't like the sounds of the fact the minor races that don't trade. I really dislike when instead of making the AI smarter, we handcuff the players like this. They did this to a smaller extent with the majors in the main game by not letthing them buy anything from the players. I used to use money to "even" off trades where we couldn't quite agree. Now that only works for you giving money, you can't get any in return.

Kit walks in wearing a boulder costume. "Has the party starte yet?" he asks.

The undead turn and collectively raise their rotting eyebrows.

Paguma asks, “what’s with the costume?”

“I uhhh... uhhh... thought this was a costume party,” Kit replies.

“Why is there a metal plate on the back of your costume?” damoose asks.

Kit looks around. “Just in case never-never shows up.”

“What’s your name, stranger?” asks Technician.

“Frank the Fleshless Rock. Got any booze?”

Well here is a mini review,
I have not tried everything yet.

As I said playing MASO I could not get Minors in aleast some conditions trade for cash.

I need the cash I can get from them in order to increase my spending. While with 1.3 I can usaully MAX Spendind and even drop taxes. With 1.49 I am lucky to get the spending upto 60%.

This means minor races serve no purpose for me so when I can I wipe them out.

The first starbase costs 259 the next 500, 750...

Well with lots of minor cash I can not afford lots of starbases. The good thing is the other majors are not building lots of starbases. If you go for the cultral flip this reduces that option. i have mixed feelings with the new starbase fee. Try to build a starbase to mine a resourse and not have the cash

On the other hand you get more races, and graphics for minor races. The Kwilwaxin can not spell it is my favorite, Can not spoil it but it was really great.

The extra major races also allow for more trading that partly makes up for the minors not trading for cash. All the extra races you should finish the tech win in record time. Of course my score got totally nerfed.

The UP vote screen is new and
very cool.

My bigest suprise was the ships nolonger disappeared.

Now the new ships I need to do alittle research and see if they are worth it.

I think I noticed a ship called the Sovreign and Palidan but I do not play out the war thing often and I have no specs on them.

Paguma,

I know it Tech win is totally hosed,
Alliance is better but more points come from
the military win.

Can you get the military Maso win without going to war all the time through the game ?

Can I get a Military win and keep my good alignment ?

I normally get wins without fighting the whole game, but I don't have AP, and may not buy it until the beta is over, if at all.
