Sirian,

I invited you accross the line? I merely asked what Chretien said that was so offensive. I got a lot more than the example I was expecting.

Anyway, I don't want to continue this conversation here, I get the feeling it makes some people uncomfortable, nor do I really want to discuss it with you anyway.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I don't like Jean Chretien, and I never even in fact stated whether I supported my country's decision or not to help in Iraq. I merely defended it's decision. That's two different things in my mind.

I will defend, until the day I die, the right of the Canadian Government to choose it's own foreign policy. We will always make our own way in the world, and it won't always agree with your country.

You do realize we're still trading with Cuba after about 40 years of an American trade embargo don't you? Just another area we don't agree.

Perhaps it would comfort you to know, although the government's position on Iraq was rather absolute, the people's were not. In the weeks leading up to the war, Canada was split about 55-45 against. However, Quebec (again the French love you!) was very strongly against, and if you discount that, the country was pretty much split 50-50. Once the war started, and the Americans started suffering casualties, the number of people who wanted to go rose even more. As much as we disagreed with what you were doing, it was very difficult to watch TV and see your brother, and friend dying.

The anti-americanism in Canada, and I won't deny it does exist because it does, is more like a rivalry thing. There's probably some jealousy as well. It is NOT hatred!

If American believe Canada or Canadians hate them, then they are terribly mistaken. Annoyed, dissappointed, upset, maybe. It is not hatred.

I agree with Damoose, I found your posts went from a friendly conversation to offensive and rude rather quickly, and that's why I'm asking us to stop this conversation. Maybe we are misunderstanding you. I don't want to lay any blame, I just want the conversation to stop in this thread. Create a new thread for it, and those who want to read it, can go there and do so.

Thank you.

The Emperor has spoken... The response from the assembled overlords... 'Yes Sire'.

I rather not get involved in Politics,

If Canadians complained about every anti-Canadian joke....

Has US always supported Canada and our Allies; during the early days of World War II when we were fighting Hitler after Hitler invaded Poland, where was the US ?

As per 1.19 it is to be avoided.

Games are not being correctly saved,
Starbases cost cash and Minors do not buy Technology for cash.

Starbases are supposed to cost cash now.

Hummm... I found out about the minors... That's a real pain. I don't mind the cash for SBs. It just makes it more difficult to alpha strike or culture bomb... Not a bad thing.

I didn't know about the bad saves though. How and where?

Hey Tech... You are a maso machine!

#258  by Citizen Paguma - 2/15/2004 8:12:48 AM

I'm starting to feel like I'm not pulling my weight, maybe I'll play a game today...

I started a 1.19 game.

Saved it.

When I went back to reload the game it loaded the last game I played.

I am playing AP again.

I think Stardock went too far with the minors not buying techs,
I offered 6 techs to one minor and they would not give me 100BC for 0 months. They had something like 70000BC

When 1.2 is released and everybody can up update, I guess everybody will upgrade and not keep doing the 60000 point alpha strike exploit

One can hope. I hope the ease up on the tech sales nerf to the minors at least a little.

So Frogboy has stated the why's and wherefores of starbase costs here. http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=135336 Link

Could still use a little more cash from the minors though. They still trade tech for tech however and that's good.

Still doesn't stop it - in my last maso game I had over half the galaxy, 100% spending and a surplus income of 2,500BC's a month and a silly treasury. Rather than wait for the inevitable I just blew them away with an alpha strike Still had positive funds BTW.

And how exactly did you manage that?

Normally happens in my gigantic maso games. Plus I had all the galactic resources as well which always helps.

Ah, I just got 60,000 points added to my score for submitting a game worth 50,000 points. Something weird went on there.

Better watch it Boss almost number 1 in CSF

Not after that submission!
