I don't think I have ever built a corvette... I hardly ever build a ship before Dreadnaught

hehe, I am the other way. I rarely get to dreadnaught because I use frigates and starfighters. Mostly frigates though.

If my Hero is lucky enough to get a corvette close to the begining of the game I will usually use it to start attacking one or 2 AIs (minor and a major) that are close to each other and one of my worlds.

When they sue for peace I can usually get lots of credits and tech. This will usually finish them off allowing me to invade. If I am really lucky the Major will surrender to me.

Even when the AI has dreadnaughts I still am fighting with Frigates.

I feel that they are the best bang for your buck because I can research upgrade techs such as +10 attack and defense and other techs such as ground based bonuses as required quicker than research battleship and then dreadnaught.

Managing your damaged ships to get experience points also helps quite a bit. The attack bonus can quickly grow to the next ship level (experienced frigate = base battleship)

Throw in a military resource and upgrade that there is a huge advantage added to the attack and defence of your ships.

I find these military games much more enjoyable than the culture type games.

Hey the galactic guardian empire just split.

They are now Guardians of Doom Empire (position 8)and the Galatic Guardians Empire (still position 1).

This knocked us down to 9th position.

Paguma, we would like you around and value your input.

We're still a reasonable active Empire in this forum.

I'll still be here, and I will post games from time to time, but I can't, and don't want to keep up to the top players. I have no interest in playing 2-3 games a day. At best I'll be playing a couple games a month from now on.

Come join us for the summer games. Better than the Greek Olympics of old. Now, for the month of June only, join the Guardians Doom or the Galatic Guardians and participate in you evil (did I say that )of choice. Help us goodies or help the evil side - your choice.

I build them. not use them. Actually, I build Palidins as soon as they become availalbe at the Dreadnaught level and good alignment. (one of the MODS)

When I do go to war, it is a one turn event that TS's the entire AI chosen into space dust. I have at time built over 25 TS to eliminate all and still had 150,000 BCs left over.

Wow, the most money I have ever had before yesterday was about 15K, I usually run at 5K. Yesterday was my first succesful Tiny/MASO and I had 25K at one point.

By the way, aren't paladins part of AP ?

Sorry to here it Newfy. Some sort of Yor torture?

When I left the ANZACS it was because they were stagnating and the empire topics were no longer of interest to me. I find my self contemplating leaving the CSF because it essentially has 1 active player left (me). I do enjoy the topics though and that is really the only reason I have stayed.

You know, if an active player base is what is important. I think the best way for this Empire to grow is to change from being a regional Empire, and change to a theme Empire.

It would be fairly painless for us to switch from the CSF to something like "The Undead Empire", or something like that. Then we could try to attract players from anywhere in the world, instead of being limited to just Canada. I mentioned this before and was met with waves of apathy, which is sort of a typical Canadian response.

Now that Technician is gone, no holding the punchs!? Not that we were doing a very good job at holding them anyway...

Hmmm! I might need to stock up on silver bullets, stakes, garlic, holy symbols, etc.

Paguma,

A change might just do the trick! And if it doesn't work out, you can always switch back to the CSF.

Paguma, quick question. Is your little calculator offline? Peace has told me to how to make my own, but I see yours isn't working. Did you kill it, or did it kill itself?

It was offline, but it should be back now.

No, I just tried it again, and it isn't working.

Nothing like Hockey Night in Canada on a Saturday night to increase the beer consumption from coast to coast. I am still pissed off that they screwed with our Saturday night religous experience all through the early rounds. The NHL treats there number one fans like crap. Bettman is a Yor in a human suit.

Go Calgary Go.

Oh, I see. It's online, just not working properly. The Metaverse may have changed the html format. I'll take a look next week. Should be a simple fix.

He's just playing along with the Guardians little war, he said he'll be back to the Diplomats on July 1.

Great game last night. Comsumed lots a beer. Nothing like a great game on Saturday Night to get my hockey juices flowing.

Calgary should start planning the parade route.
