Polls. Martin was the guy that cut health care. Not that he had a choice. Just seems hipocritical to now act as if he is the defender of health care.

I don't know about the rest of you but I could use a tax cut. Maybe stop charging the GST on gasoline tax. Tax on tax is wrong.

Man... Busy place over the weekend.

Have mentioned recently just how much I hate yard work? And can some please explain to me why it is good to go and buy something that consumes 10% of your money on a regular basis? (That would be a house if anyone was unsure.) No... Never mind don't answer that.

None the less I spent 6 hrs yesterday... count 'em 6... putting tar on the garage roof (which is all most flat). Grrrrrr! Then spent 2 hrs cutting grass. Double GRRRR!

At least I have an MP3 player.

Well, I exagerated a bit. I was actually in Newmarket and I used the Extreme Toll Ripoff highway to bypass Toronto (ETR 407).

The drive is a pain it the butsky though.

It would be fairly painless for us to switch from the CSF to something like "The Undead Empire", or something like that.

As 1 member of 3 or 5 active players you get my vote to change the name from CSF to The Undead Empire or something like it.

It would be nice to have an active Canadian team but I do not see that as happening.

Damoose, what are your thoughts?

I used the Extreme Toll Ripoff highway to bypass Toronto (ETR 407).

Newfy we have a toll highway here called the Coquihalla. Its a freeway that cuts right through the coastal mountains from Vancouver to kamloops. Anyway on my way back on the May long weekend they had single lane traffic on a tiny bridge. Backed up traffic for hours. I waited over 2 hours. Later in the day much worse. Could have took the free highway, transcanada from the same spot and saved atleast an hour. They had no signage warning comuters or nothing. It was so bad it was all over the news. I said to the the toll collector. What, the 2 hour delay does not cost extra as I paid my 10.00 loonies. I want to write the department of highways for a refund.

Good luck. If your toll road is private I don't think that you will get your money back.

The ontario government in a fit of stupidity sold the Toll road to a private consortium and they are raking in the money.

The toll road saves me about 1 hour during the rush(3)hour strech that it is worth it.

They were trying to do that here but the public out cry was so large they had to back down. Private companys don't do anything unless there is a big profit in it. So if there making a big profit how does that help the tax payer? When the highway was built for Expo 86 they said the toll would be removed once it was paid for. It was paid for about 5 years ago and the tolls still there. At least now it goes to the goverment not some private company.

Well… there are more active UnDead than post in this forum that's for sure, about 10% of the 126 members are submitting.

I mentioned this before and was met with waves of apathy, which is sort of a typical Canadian response

No seriously, if I wasn’t in the CSF I probably would not be in an empire at all. As I’ve said before it was the ‘Canadian’ that caught my attention. I like being Canadian… There how’s that for patriotism.

Boss... If you're serious about desolving the CSF... then I'd have to think about what I'd do.

I wrote a good chunk of the software for that highway in my previous job. I was not responsible for the idea of the highway, or implenting it, fees or anything like that.

I built a big chunk of the invoicing portion for release 1.0. Then I quit.

You are right Technician. I knew that and it would be nice if they were a bit more active in the forums.

But, I feel as I think you did that this empire is not very active and it currently is not able to challenge for a top spot. When you were with us we were in contention and perhaps a name change for the empire then would have attracted some active people.

There are many people playing on other teams because they like something about those other teams. Maybe the forums, website some other form of participation attracts them?

I like Paguma's sugestion about changing the name to sort of open it up a bit. This may allow us to get more active players and this would be a good thing. I am a Canadian and proud of it as I am sure most Canadians are. Changing the name won't hurt my feelings.

With some fresh undead on the team we could once again be in contention although I will settle for a more active team.

Perhaps we need to change the link on the empire joinup from the website to the Canadian Star Federation forum to show the new players our forum?

That caught my attention as well. I would like to try and revitalize the team hence my suggestions.

I don't intend to leave unless the team disbands. I do not think that is what Paguma wants to do.

I might add this is the best place to discuss hockey. Not to forget, gardening and house work with DaMoose.

If Flames win tonight the cup will come home. 3-1 lead with the way Calgary has been winning on the road it should be a lock. If Tampa wins though anything can happen in the best of 3.

Unfortunately, when our active players leave, because this empire isn't active enough, it becomes a loop. If all the active Canadian players were here, we wouldn't have this problem.

Oh well, I guess we'll hold the fort, and hope they return to us someday...

Canada Day is just around the corner...

Not sure how you define losing ground. We were gaining ground in the Metaverse (compared to everyone but maybe the top 2 teams). We were fighting for 4th place. Even with your points now, we'd still be 5th place, and that's counting the Guardians are currently split in 2. We had more active players than we had in quite some time. NewfyScotian had returned to us from Anzac. We had a champion that would do a lot to attract other star players back. I thought we were finally going in the right direction. Although you are right, that we don't have a lot of active people in the forum, but even there we were going in the right direction. Newfy is now posting regularly. damoose, yourself and I were always here. Rojo drops by somewhat regularly. Of course, I personally don't understand why the forum has to be active to be part of the empire, but that's me. Players are always free to read/post in any thread. In fact, some of our regular readers/posters aren't even from this Empire.

Let's be honest here, we're never going to compete for 1st place. Not enough of the top players are Canadian for that to happen. However 4th place was pretty amazing considering our very limited pool of players to draw from.

Anyway, we're still be here, and all Canadians, and anybody else that wants to join our cause can join us whenever they want to, we are an open Empire.
