Everyone must be tired after the party. Of course it could also just be the extended weekend.

I'm going to have to have a talk with Weyrleader about this particular little innovation of his.

I was out of town for Canada Day. Another one of my tours. Once again visiting 4 provinces!

Hey, I woke up in New Brunswick, flew from Nova Scotia to Quebec, and drove to Ontario...

All in a day's work for the Boss.

I tried one of the political party mods. I have never tried a mod before. I started late last night and found myself nodding off so I crawled to bed.

I have to say that the ResearchInc Party mod gave me a huge advantage over the AI.

The game play is almost 2 times faster. The only downside is my military is very weak.

The diplomacy score was so high that I had warm relations with about 50% of the AI after the first trades were completed.

I feel that MASO just got too easy.

#3562  by Citizen damoose - 7/5/2004 8:25:39 AM

Yes... Well basically, the mod was created to allow fast alliance wins. That's one of the issues with allowing games mods in general, you can change the behaviour. That's also one of the strengths as well. Finding the balance is the hard part.

Hey Boss, I just noticed that Takodoe has been playing regularly and has a nice score in the 89K range. Time to promote him or what?

Not that he or many of the others would ever respond or notice ....

Just not sure if I like mods. Feels like cheating to me.

That is the goal of this mod. And it does a nice job for this goal

I feel that MASO just got too easy.

Well, when you understand that the key for maso is diplomacy and staying out of war, you will see that this party is perfect for playing maso. And you will also be able to get TG/Wonders and have the leadership in tech.

I just got to #50 in the metaverse! I have been trying for 8 months to get out of the 3rd page of metaverse scores.

And to think almost a year ago I was in the race for #3. I was in 5th spot. That was when COTAL all of a sudden started submitting 60K games. Long time ago.

It helps that many above me are not playing anymore!

Even with out this mod I was able to get most Trade goods and wonders. I would only have to trade for about 3 or 4 tradegoods later on in the game.

This mod just makes it easy to stay on top of the tech race.

I have been using it for a couple weeks. Not good when you end up in a war. I have saved games off so I play what ever happens no reloading. You have to pluff them into thinking you have a decent military and hand over the farm to get peace so it can present a challenge.

If you have found Dreadnought tech, you can have a nice military rating: just build enough Anti Matter Missile. This 'ship' isn't affected by the negative bonus since it hasn't any defense and only 1 HP. And the Research.inc pol party don't modify the attack stats

Well as long as you are moving you are safe.
I just grabbed another couple of positions this morning.

I don't play the maps that get 60K. I am playing Tiny and the best I can get is a smidge under 40K. It still takes me about 2 hours to play a game because I have to take the military win to get points.

I like the tiny maps and as a bonus I am in 1st place with Tiny. I will try and keep that for as long as I can!
