I'm probably going to be a much sought after snack now for taking CSF's top. Good thing I invested in the chrome plated, kevlar re inforced, nearly snack proof, full body armor suit when I joing the GG.

Da Moose is always a gracious host. He is hosting a Grey Cup party here Sunday and says there should be plenty of snacks.

Grey Cup is the Canadian Football League championship game by the way.

OK!! That's it. I'm going to lose it. I can't seem to break the 18000 mark in scoring. when ever i try higher levels for higher scores i get brutally massacred. Is there like a WALKTHROUGH or something? How about a hint or two. I need a little help CSF'ers. What can i do better?

There are alot of beginner strategies around put you have already past that level Takodoe. The key is never fight a war until you know you can win. High diplomacy, and lots of tech bribes.Keep the majors warm or better. Minors are your friends because they trade techs cheaper then you can research. I put everything into one thing at a time. 100% military to start of course and I never buy a colony ship. 100%spending with tax rate high as you can without dropping moralty below 100%. I never take more the 4 planet to start or it is to big a drain on your funds.

I hope I have said something here you did not already know and is of help.

Hey thanks Exalted one:). When I start a game I make sure I'm on the outskirts of a map to have longer trade routes for more cash from trade, I research ends up at 55%, millitary at 35 and the rest for social to start that way I end up with lots of planets and a good jump on techs. Taxes go up to around 50-55% and the spend rate is 100% until I'm sucked dry. I usually end up with Diplomatic Translators and Gravity Accelerators but it seems even though I boost up research spending, all other races have all the techs I have anyways. After Earth builds one or two colony ships I start it on a constructor with hopes of grabbing a resource or two. Is there a particular political party I should take, or tech i should go for first? What is wrong with this strategy? It seems like it should work. But anything over normal difficulty I end up getting creamed after about an hour playing. I must be missing something. I usually take federalists for economics and 5 points for the +1 speed bonus then another couple for another economics bonus and the rest of the points for things like weapons or defense. That's about all I can think of about how I play. Suggestions would be appreciated guys. Thanks.
Oh and by the way..........The Lions will be Grey Cup champs come Sunday.
Thank you for your patronage. The party is bring your own snacks.

Tak... Buddy... Like ED says... One key to winning is never fight a war you cannot win. Also micromanagement is your friend in the early game. Use your build queues. There are several threads in the strat forum on build queue order. Take a look at any of the maso strat threads, the maso strats will work at any level.

The difference between the levels of difficulty for the player as you move up levels is the speed at which you must transition your game from early to mid to late game strats.

Don't rush to finish the game. Try and keep a major around, a very weak major, and let the game contimue passed the point at which you would normally. Most points are assigned based on victory type and size. But you do get a few points for how much of the tech tree you have researhed and pop size.

Since a golden rule at maso is to avid war whenever possible, try the research.inc party, and forget any war bonus. If you want to play with standard parties, try the populist. Morale is very important and diplomacy help a lot. Don't forget to bribe AI. And occupied AI are better than inoccupied: if they are at war between them, they will "love" you since you will be their only trade partner. And that means lots of cash

Starbases aren't important at the beginning of the game. It is better to improve Earth (with PQ booster, morale booster, eco booster ...) and do some research to have something to exhange. And if you have enough diplomatic skills (with lots of thing to exchange), you can get starbases buit on ressource by the AI

Okay,I'm here for the pregame. Good to see all coolers filled and iced. Da Moose has been a busy Moose. Chairs around the big screen are a little wierd. They kind of leave your butt cheek's exposed when sitting. Must be one of those Ikea chairs from overseas. Comfortable enough though. I'll just pop open a cool one and settle in.

So I saw an article today on eWeek about how poorly anti-spyware tools work.

http://www.eweek.com/article2/0 Link,1759,1731474,00.asp

Just in case you think you are protected...

#4621  by Citizen Evil Druid - 11/24/2004 3:12:36 PM

I got one called abetterinternet.com. I'm running spysweeper and norton 2005 with so called privacy protection.

I tried getting rid of it manually as well but I can't get rid of the stupid thing. I think someone should pubish a list of these companies advetizers so we can boycott them.

Every time I try going to Norton a Mcafee add appears so I wrote Mcafee a letter accusing them of supporting spy companies that they sell products to protect us against. Have not had a reply to date.
