Unfortunately, I set my autosave to 5 turns, so even backing up 10 turns was not enough.

I used to run mine at 6 (1/2 a year). Set it back to 12 for just that very reason. I can go back.

Hey Tech... You got your 3rd bar.

#580  by Citizen damoose - 2/24/2004 7:13:16 AM

And did you guys notice we have over 1000 games submitted?

#581  by Diplomat Technician - 2/24/2004 8:08:58 AM

I think it must of been a glitch, the bars came back after my last submition.

1000 game submitted,

Lets see submit 1 game a day for the next 3 years.
No I can not see it happening.

Yes, I posted a message in a thread in the main forum yesterday. I think it's "ready" for wider testing. I don't want to release the servlet yet, because it's easier for me to update it from my own server. If you want you can upload the html to call the servlet to the Canadian web page.

In fact, if you want, you can make a prettier web page. The only important information you need to keep is the fields. The servlet looks for it's data in the fields (id, score, year, month, day) so if you want to change the look of it, as long as it submits them with the same names it will still work. You can play around with that if you want.

Just do a right click, view source on my page. My html is purposely minimalistic. Just some minor formatting to make it presentable.

Thanks. I really liked the spreadsheet but I'm lazy, and couldn't imagine everyone wanting to enter all their game data. Plus, I wanted to know how submitting future scores would affect my score. I did create my own spreadsheet to do that, but it's not easily maintained, so I went with the servlet route instead.

I think I'm going to buy Drengin.net tonight. I'm not entirely sold on AP, but I want to support this company, so I'll buy in anyway.

I finally got my question answered about what happens after the membership expires. In fairness, I finally asked the question in the right place. I got an answer from sales at Stardock in less than a day.

What is Suicidal? Is that just the same difficulty settings as Masochistic, but because of the other 2 added AIs?

That servlet for score calculating looks great (and works great too).

Yup

I have Drengin.net and it is worth it, each penny. Now I am planning to get objectdesktop.

A new illegal shipment of Canadian Bacon have been intercepted at the Undead border. We are taking control of the freighter and confiscating the merchandise.

There still is one known problem that is bothering me. For some reason, it sometimes has trouble parsing the data from the metaverse. The worst part is, there is no problem with the code if it is run outside the servlet, but it fails in the servlet. Anyway, it only happens once in awhile, and usually corrects itself after the user's next submission. This is sort of good, but also makes it harder to solve the problem!

I was told you could still download the free bug fix patches after your membership expires, but you would be unable to download new non-free expansions or new games.

That's all I hoped for anyway.

I didn't ask about what happens if you have a system crash after your membership expired. It will probably be your responsibility to back up, or store the installs for the games you downloaded during your membership.

Noticed that, so not really a problem.

Thx for the answer about Drengin

Gerakken enters the Canadian thread on a mission, knowing that his mere presence in post #594 may push the thread into the cheese zone where post pushers will bump it up. Thus a flood of both cheese and the ones serving it will arrive to feed the denizens of the graveyard. Who says Gerakken can't be generous?

I thought I read somewhere Aliens ignore 14 worlds.

The Torians likely did not read the thread in my last game they took over a class 14 system next to Earth.

Of course the sector is mind and they had a nerve to bitch when I build a starbase to protect my home.

Yes they are doing that I've had the same thing happen since 1.19.

#598  by Citizen Paguma - 2/24/2004 3:56:49 PM

I noticed that as well...

Don't you love how they demand the starbases in your sectors like that. You can of course never do that if they build the starbase.

Not to mention the fact, if you did give them the starbase, it would now be theirs in the same sector.

There should be an option to agree to disband the starbase.

It's happening to me in my 1.13 games. I think it's pretty cool. They won't under any circumstances, touch a pq 13 though.
