Lurk, lurk.

How are the Canadians doing with the new AP? I ended up falling back a level in difficulty.

I ended up falling back a level in difficulty.

Funny thing is, you'll probably have more fun at that level.

True enough! A lot more diplomacy. The start-- colonizing, getting the first freighters out, balancing the economy--is still a little too difficult, in my opinion. Longer game as well. The interaction with the AI's is fun to balance.

Overall, a thumbs up, but waiting for the sequel with an easier start.

Well I can agree playing at level under Maso does make a game. Up until a few montha ago i never played Maso.

You read the posts several pages back on every ones thoughts on AP right?

Overall however, I like the AI changes for 1.2 and AP.

I haven't really played with the scenario stuff yet. Still a little too unstable if I'm reading the post in the GF correctly. And I only get a houror soto play a day so I want to maximize the effort... if you know what I mean.

I've seen many posts say this. I'm more inclined to think that it's actually the AI changes, rather that AP itself.

2 extra races in whatever map size you are currently playing is easier I think.

I think play style is a big factor with AP, I do not find it easier. I find that there are two more races that think all my systems belong to them.

Tech... Have you made it over to the RB SG yet? I know RoJo96 is playing. I just haven't had the time.

Maybe this weekend.

#1186  by Diplomat Technician - 3/19/2004 7:52:06 AM

I have not checked it out.

I hope RoJo96 is picking up lots of pointers.

Definitely. My first year shadow moves had some blunders, and were quickly pointed out. Great feedback. Learned 3 or 4 new things.

I submitted my second year shadow moves and noticed that Bam-Bam submitted his and mentioned SiBCaT. Interesting read, and looks like I will be learning a few more things. Just waiting for everyone else to submit so I can get my evaluation for this year. Should be interesting.

On the personal front, I have started playing painful and will do so for a few more games before going to the next level.

I got another new game (not GalCiv) and have been putting some time into that. Not to mention, Lord of the Realms III comes out this week, and I've been waiting years for that one...

All that being said, I'll get in at least 1 game this weekend, maybe 2.

Playing Large maps really makes the time required much more reasonable.

Hi Canadians!

Did you ever get an answer on what was happening at joeuser?

Nope. They told me there were some behind-the-scenes things going on over there.

Sweet.

Agreed! Don't play anyother size any more.

Oh, it's an older one, but the price dropped a lot so I picked it up. MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries. I haven't played any in the series since MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries.

MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries

My brother still plays that religiously.

I was thinking of starting it up again - maybe after the wars.

Hey RoJo (and any of you other lurkers out there)... It took me a while to figure this out... but if you highlight the text in a post and press the button (it's supposed to be the letter 'Q') just under your empire logo, you end up with 'quoted' text in a white rectangle as above.

Or you could also use {quote}put text here{/quote} and then you can embed quotes within quotes.

(replace the {} with [] in the above)

I think that we must be thankful that we can do this and don't have someone spying all day long over your shoulder to see what you are doing. Agreed???

#1199  by Citizen damoose - 3/19/2004 12:50:39 PM

Indeed!
