It doesn't look that bad. I wonder if I can get Theodeon to change ours if the Stars win...

I wonder in these days of rising energy costs if daylight savings time makes sense.

Well I am ready to lose my hours sleep.

Just submitted my first Maso game. Wasn't pretty, but I will take it.

Long game. Need sleep badly and bummer, just realized I am going to lose an hour.

I'm glad to see the Preds make it, sad to see the Oilers miss. I was hoping the Preds would have beaten the Blues yesterday, so both of them could have made it. Plus we could have ended the Blues 25 year playoff streak.

Boss... I had to uninstall SDC and reinstall. Might work for you.

BTW, I tried again later and it worked...

Whoa, I didn't notice Rojo96's quick climb. He's at 59K!

Well my arbitrary line for welcoming people to the Senate is 60K so as soon as you submit that next game I guess we'll be welcoming you in.

Is there no cushier place to be than the Canadian Senate?

Seeing as you're all talking about sport, you might like to know that yesterday was a historic occasion in another sport.

For the first time in 36 years, England have won a test series in the West Indies - now leading 3-0 in a 4 match series

Oh, it's cricket by the way, in case you didn't know. Canada also has a cricket team, and they are steadily improving

#1737  by Citizen damoose - 4/4/2004 11:31:53 AM

Hey... The Leafs won???? Man there's gonna be a lot of grumbling at the office tomorrow. Oh well at least it's still a maple leaf.

That is true. It's wrong... but it is true.

That was the score? Man did they get whacked or what... I feel a choke coming on.

Magnum... I didn't know that. Good the hear they are improving. And 36 years with out a win, in any game, in any place... Good for England then!

News to me

Does cricket have something to do with insects?

36 years with out a win

And it was 1967 when the Leafs last won.

I have a question about GC I just quit a game, wasted an hour. The Drengin Empire decided they wanted to take care of Humanity before I take care of them.

Got to love Warmongers,

Alien atack weaker aliens because they are weak.

Get an event a War starts.

Friendly Aliens declare wars out the blue.

Anybody see this type of declaration of War?
What causes it?
How do I avoid it?

Vir I am a big fan of your show,Hopefully "Space" will get there acts together and start playing in again.

I gave up waiting for them and have slowly purchased the DVD's for the four season of B5 that are out on DVD. I'm watching them through from start to finish currently... Just finished off season 1.

Anyway, always remeber to watch out for Shadows, they move when your not looking at them.

Well, back to my lurking.

Yup...

For me it always has to do with relative strength on the pop/mil/eco/resh curve. You can be 'weak' in anyone of them but need to compensate massively in the others.

The other time it seems to happen is when I hit 50-80 in mil stats. They see you are becoming strong so the AI does what you do... strike before the other guy is prepared.

Sushi anyone?

I think this is actually because you have transports / combat ships close to their planets (even if they're only passing through to go to somewhere else).

If they are in the same sector as a planet, you get the "we are aware of the military build-up" and "remove your ships at once" warnings for a couple of months before they declare war. If they are in an adjacent sector for any length of time, then you get the "we'd better take care of you first" war declaration without any warning.

#1747  by Diplomat Technician - 4/4/2004 4:34:47 PM

Makes sense they were wiping out a minor so I had combat tranports planted next to the minors system.

#1748  by Citizen damoose - 4/4/2004 4:41:41 PM

Hummm... only after they have taken the planets and only if you don't have a planet in the same sector. They AI only comments on mil build up after a little bit of time. ANd you get a turn or 2 to move the ships.
