There's multiple parties in GalCiv too, but it still seems to take a morale rate of 60% to survive an election.

I've survived an election by winning only 35 votes. Luck and a divided enemy.

Setup a schedule for each day of the week we visit a new Empire Thread and give them 2 or 3 pages of CSF Goodness. |

I am game, my time table is all over the place on a daily basis but I will try to be there.

Perhaps you never heard of grenades hidden with an apple's core. ~~pulls apple from mouth and throws it at the fire pit~~ muahahaha! ~~covers head and then scampers back to the Diplomat's embassy~~ |
|
~~ NewfyScotian laughs out loud, grabs the apple out of the pit ... Runs over to the Diplomats camp ... pulls the pin out of the grenade and throws the pin into their bunk house. NewfyScotian runs back to tell his buddies ... well, we are the undead

Congratulations to Damoose for being elected an honourary Guardian.
That does mean you'll have to look elsewhere for snacks though.

I am not a small map player so your strategy maybe the only way to go |
|
I am sure that it is not the only way to go but it does work for me. I did like the affect of playing with the Morale and high taxes. By the end of the game the Morale was at 100% and I was taxing them at 91%.
I was wondering you do not bother using Cntr N to get the best map you can ?Use the save game, use cheat keys, Cntr "U" and then reload game cheese ? |
|
I use the Cntr N but I was feeling cocky last night and did not check out the 2 yellow stars to see what the planets were. I know that I could have restarted.
I have only used the Cntr U keys twice now. I have used a method similar without cheating just to find the nearest good stars. I save the game, direct my ships to stars and cycle the turns to find the good ones. Then reload. Usually only takes a few minutes.
I never trade tech for cash, I get all my cash through trade routes. I do a Tech for a Tech trade with minors but if I tried to ask cash for a Tech I get next to nothing and Trading Techs with Majors I always get a bad deal. |
|
That is a difference I think between a Tiny/Crippling and a Huge/MASO. Trade never becomes a factor in my tiny games because trade helps the AI more than the human early on. Trading techs on the other hand is very crucial for cash flow. Most of my deals are between 10 and 15 credits for 10 - 15 years. Some are more but I can survive and prosper doing this. My tax is usually 39% and spending at 100%.
Usually have to turn spending down to 50% shortly after I have most of the starting trade goods researched. This is the point when trade routes can help, but even at this time I can go without and still beat the game without too much trouble.
With the new tricks I have learned about Morale/Population and taxes I am confident that I can keep my spending at 100% even longer.

When you are undead the last thing you want to do is look into a mirror ... yuck! It is enough to spoil your lunch!
