Greldon, don't know if I ever congratulated you on getting in the Top 10.
I see you've submitted yet another of those 60k bombs! I swear, you're such a machine you probably need to be oiled from time to time!

And from the podium the words of the performing duo wafts through the inn: "Are we going to Mordor again? Gimli, Sam, Legolas, Gandalf" |
|
Oh, no!!
A vague reference that I don't recognize!!!

|
"Are we going to Scarborough fair? Parsley sage rosemary and thyme" Duo? Simon and Garfunkle
|
|
DOH! If I'd heard the music, I'd have known that...I've got two copies of their Greatest Hits (my wife and I both owned a copy before we were married!)

|
It'll be slow going from now on though! |
|
Nahh, you can pass Wombie! He's probably pretty nervous right now!

Andy Rooney-Baggins on 60 Minutes of the Second Age
Tonight I want to talk to you about a letter I received from a listener who lives in his own dimension, Mayito 777 I will call him. Mayito writes and claims that elves have wings and that middle earth is rife with tires. Tsk, tsk, Mayito, is all I can say.
Don't you just hate it when you're talking with someone and they can't get their mythos categorized right? I know I do. The other day a cashier at the market I go to mentioned that Balrogs have wings. I tried to tell her that Tolkien's conception is not really clear and that there is profound confusion as to whether balrogs have wings or merely shadows that appeared as wings. Anyway, to the question of elves and wings.
Mayito, you seem to be deeply troubled and misinformed. Tolkien's elves did not have wings, nor did those in D&D, AD&D, or even in AD&D 3rd Edition. Sprites and faeries may have wings, birds may have wings, airplanes have wings, as do maxi-pads sometimes---but elves do not have wings whether rigid, flapping, or otherwise. So we are extra clear on this even Santa's elves do not have wings. As for CariElf, that is a picture Mayito, a picture. It does not represent the true mythos of elves.
About tires in Middle Earth. Nice try but there are no tires. Even Peter Jackson knew that. Did you see tires? I don't know what you think you took but there are a bunch of wargs missing and we can't find Mr Sparkles, the Balrog of Moria....
This is Andy Rooney-Baggins reminding you all Get your mythos straight!

And I have learned how to look at these things and say
Elves have no wings even if you pay them
I couldn't live with that, no siree

OK, got the 60k in for this week. It took longer with only 3 planets. Times are getting hard. Am only getting about an 11k boost in the metaverse score and 6k in personal profile per 60k submission. This "decay" stuff is grounding down the "dormant veterans" of the FotR. Noticed Hawaii-5-O, Heaton, and other ringers who used be over a 100k are now 30 to 40k. Ray if you are still around, consider a game a month to prevent the dreaded 30 day gap in scoring. Vinicible use those skills to smack around the AI. Greldon is carrying the Ringfolk and we need to give him a little support. Thank you Greldon for all you are doing to keep the FotR empire intact and in second place. And thanks to Mr. Downie and the rest of us submitting games.
Welcome all the new folks. Please feel free to ask any strategy tips. Some of us been playing Gal Civ since last spring and we have managed to make most of the mistakes for you. .
