Theoden.. did you get a philosophy book over the weekend, or just surfed for famous quotations?

Perhaps you would consider a regular column in GC Confidential

I dunno what's gotten into me...

All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be the blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.

You should be careful what you say Aaberg, you never know when it might appear in a story.. I wonder what I mean by that?

Dang...just can't stop the quotes!!!

I will watch what i'm saying....i'm just afraid my bad english will one day get me into a mess of somekind, but then again you can't really blame a guy for not mastering a language (hey i didn't know that the liquid you refer to as beer - could get you drunk)

I think that Saruman Steamworks and Elrond Enterprises may also have models worth looking at.

That sounds fine…as long as they conform to the “Vendor Qualifications”, as specified in the “CTF Purchasing Guidelines” manual……section 3, I think…..“Required Vendor Qualifications for Capital Purchases”……I hate red tape!

Drawing on my fine command of the English language, I said nothing.

I believe that was Ben Franklin!

Okay, enough of the quotes. I wanted to find a quote that fit each empire. I think I did pretty well. If anybody was left out, let me know and I'll find them something!

So I saw, well done Greldon.. what time did you get it down to?

Only kidding Aaberg, say whatever you like, always need new material for the GCC... and Danish beer.. ahhhh Elephant Beer, I remember it well until the 4th one then evrything became blurry...

Or even better I do remember an afternnon in an Esbjerg pub drinking (and excuse the spelling) Paske Brew (Easter Beer) a lovely dark nectar... After drinking several of these and talking to a couple of locals we piled 4 of us plus to of them into a convertible.. Should have realised then they were nuts, why would you want a convertible in Denmark, too cold.. ANyway we went for a joyride round Esbjerg, only just made it back in time for the ferry...

Those were the days

A little over 3 hours....I think.....I didn't really keep track. One of the 3 submissions on Sunday was actually submitted a little after midnight, on Saturday....I really only played 2 games Sunday.

Submitted another 60k to hang onto 6th place but the race in the top ten is pretty intense. FotR is still 300k behind SF in the empire contest. Oh well, running fast to stay in the same place.

Way to go Greldon. Don't burn out. Just keep having fun and don't worry how fast the games come in. Remember the story of the tortise and the hare and all that good stuff. Vincible might start resubmitting soon too.

So when is AP supposed to be out in the non-beta commerical release (whatever you call it)?

I'm looking forward to the commercial release too. Looks interesting.

I tried to convince Jaws that he and the rest of Special Forces should take a vacation, but I don't think he bought it!

Useless Trivia:

Both Special Forces and Fellowship of the Ring have six players in the top twenty five.

Ric the reason I asked Greldon how long he took was due to a conversation we had had previously in the other thread. Not intending it should be the sole focus on the game. Of course it's more important to enjoy the game.

I actually enjoy trying to see in how less a time I can finish, as well as trying diferent setups etc. In the doc that Greldon has I stated in there that I completed a Gig/Maso with only 3 planets once. I think it was Theoden that started me along those lines when he said he ctrl-n's until he finds the worse starting position.

Anyway now on to AP where the games are a bit longer although somewhat easier due to less of a single Civ dominance.

I did that in December and came back refreshed.

Although I have noticed something about the scoring that maybe Ray or soembody in here might be able to confirm.

After my last submission my score only went up about 3K, this was after the recalc.

I keep my own spreadsheet and was trying to work out why my score differed to the metavers score.. I ended up getting the figure right if I only included my current 30 day block plus the last 6. any scores before that seem to be discounted.

This would lose the incentive for long term play if this is the case. Effectively it puts a cap within certain limits on what score you can achieve.

Any comments?

I'll say! You guys are tearing it up. You sure you don't need another vacation?

I've only been playing for around three months, so I guess this hasn't affected me yet, but threee months from now........

At this time I would like to suggest marking all FotR freighters with yellow.......for obvious security reasons.

That might help, if we didn't scan them.
