Oh, more people than you know listen to you...

Just had a bit of a reality check...vincible now stands at #25 and is going to drop from the first page for the first time in...well..I can't remember not seeing him on the front page.

Oh, more people than you know listen to you... |
|
Well, that would explain the concealed microphones I keep finding around the house...
| |
|
Oh yeah, I did that as well. They never build very many, however.Should have added refusal to sell combat transports to my list of easy ways they ought to improve the AI. |
|
You know. I'm beginning to think this game is far far too easy.
| |
|
|
This game has never been "too easy" for me to enjoy it. If I snooze, I lose. And as long as everyone has fun, they should play the way they like for as long as they like.
Heck, they can even pretend the Altarians or the Yor or the Drengins are the George W. Bush administration. Doesn't Lord Kona look like Karl Rove? I mean, have fun, right? Back to the game, I never have thought of buying enemy transports but I do like to buy their freighters for that "instant trade route".
I watched "The Naked Gun" (? 1983) last night with Leslie Neilsen, George Kennedy, Ricardo Montoban, and Lisa Marie Presley (sorry about spellings). Thought I was going to laugh myself into a coma. Wow, that was very funny. I highly recommend it. It is the perfect film to watch after Apocalypse Now Redux. I wonder if the Naked Gun sequels are any good?

|
You ever catch Tommy Boy with Chris Farley and David Spade? I thought I was going to die laughing.
| |
|
Yeah, I just noticed that too Life's too busy for now for me to do anything about it though. |
|
Vincible, we still love ya. It is just hard for old-timers like Theoden and me to watch a couple of the best players ever like you and Ray continue to have your score decay. You guys taught us how to play (sniffle, sniffle).
Best of luck to you in real-life pursuits although some of us can't figure out why you would want an education and real life instead of an escapist fanatasy computer PC game life. .
Take care and thanks for saying hello.

No, but thanks to you, I just added it to my netflix queue. For anyone in the US, check out www.netflix.com for DVD rentals. It is easy and our rentals average less than $2 per DVD without having to drive to stand in line at Blockbusters or wherever. Glad to see "Lothmorg the Black" (scary name for sure) likes to get downright silly sometimes. .

The second one had some very funny moments:
(We join our heroes as Drebin is telling Jane of his suspicions about Dr. Mainheimer.)
Lt. Frank Drebin: Have you noticed anything... different about him?
Jane Spencer: Well, only that he's a foot taller... Oh, and he seems to be left handed now. Frank, what are you trying to tell me? That Quentin has somehow found an exact double for Dr. Mainheimer and that tomorrow that double will give a fraudulent report to the president?
Lt. Frank Drebin: Why, that's brilliant! That's a lot better than what I came up with. |
|
The third one was disappointing, by Naked Gun standards.

If you liked Naked Gun, you should check out "Police Squad" on TV...it's the TV series where everything started. They show them sometimes on TV Land. Police Squad only lasted 6 episodes, but there's sort of a cult following out there. The cast for the show is Leslie Nielson as Drebin but they didn't have OJ for his partner (thank God!).
Do a Google Search for Police Squad and you'll get more info!
Actually, I'll save you the trouble...here's something you might be able to get from Netflix Link
| |
|
Thanks for the comments. Police Squad is on tape but not DVD but I signed the petition for it to come out on DVD Link so that's cool.
Finished another 60k so FotR can stay in 3rd place and so I don't lose ground in the metaverse so fast. .

Great job, Rick! Glad to see you're still enjoying the game!
Hey, haven't heard from Nastavnik in a while...hope he's doing okay.
| |
|
|
Good to hear from you, N!

Great to see you back, Nastavnik!! We missed ya!

Ric, Nast, vinci, any other members: I've been engaging in secret discussions on the idea of a merger with another empire.
The problem is, we're perceived as being loaded down with inactive players (and an inactive leader). If it would mean gaining some new, active, high-scoring recruits, would you accept the kicking out of players who never contribute at all? Or even the formation of a New Fellowship of some sort?
We might be able to talk them into joining us without having to make any changes, but I thought I ought to see how people felt.

One remark: you may want to wait the end of the clone war before the merger/new empire take effect.
| |
|
Yes, we were going to wait.

Thks Theoden. I did miss the talks in here, but sometimes it cannot be avoided: bills have to be paid . I considered doing what I do in galciv, and refuse to give in to extortion, but they said they would jamm all my communications and shut down life support systems... So I had to fold...

I guess that will really be "turning a page" in the history of galciv empires... But, why not?
As for the inactive players, does it change anything (kicking them out or not)? And if a new empire is created, and we decide to join it, this one will disappear and these inactive players will be empireless anyway, or am I wrong?
I think we've been victim of the score decay mecanism, but that will be true for all the empires that submitted a lot latelly : I was amazed to see yesterday just how many places I had gone up without submitting, just because of that (my scores that are decaying the most are my lower ones, of the earlier versions, in a few months things will be different...).
I guess we'll be talking more about this next month. How is going the clone wars by the way?

Our alliance, RDG-04 is leading by over 10,000,000 points. The real battle is for 2nd. Link

Great way to put it!

Take a look here: Link
We have a confortable leading. So we should win it unless some people who have submitted lots of games decided to change their empire. But this shouldn't happen
