I keep my own spreadsheet and was trying to work out why my score differed to the metavers score.. I ended up getting the figure right if I only included my current 30 day block plus the last 6. any scores before that seem to be discounted. This would lose the incentive for long term play if this is the case. Effectively it puts a cap within certain limits on what score you can achieve.Any comments?

Yes, Jaws, my comment is, "could you please explain that again?". You and I both started June 2003 so shouldn't we have a current 30 day block plus the last 6? Doesn't each 30 day block decay by 5% in the metaverse but 10% in the personal profile? Or are we missing something? Just when I think I understand it. .

Ric

Sorry for the confusion.. It appears that any scores submitted before July 7th does not get added to your metaverse score.
Block 1 3rd Feb - 4th Jan 100%
Block 2 3rd jan - 5th Dec 95%
Block 3 4th Dec - 5th Nov 90%
BLock 4 4th Nov - 6th Oct 85%
Block 5 5th Oct - 6th Sep 80%
Block 6 5th Sep - 7th Aug 75%
Block 7 6th Aug - 8th Jul 70%
Anything earlier zero

All this talk makes me remember a quote:

"I am as bent as Dostoevsky"

Anyone know where that is from?

I think it was Theoden that started me along those lines when he said he ctrl-n's until he finds the worse starting position.

Actually, that was Downie! I much prefer a good starting position!

Good morning again! Work looks bad again today and it's not helping we're getting ice again today.

Members of the Council: You've got mail.

At this time I would like to suggest marking all FotR freighters with yellow.......for obvious security reasons.

That might help, if we didn't scan them.

The scanning ability claim seems dubious at best. If you actually have the ability to scan vessels and identify their cargo, why would you require color markings in the first place? No……I think not, and since nearly 75 percent of our export economy is pipeweed..... You can’t stop every ship, and the ones you raid will be transporting cargo you want to “avoid” most times. But feel free to drop by with your demands any time you like…….Hobbits really enjoy a good laugh!

Greldon, did you remember to mark the "special" cargos with the "pink" dots???

Yes....but you must use a black light to reveal the marking.

Actually, since the CTF upgraded and modified all security protocols last month, the 24/43A1X is obsolete. You’ll need to get Terl to approve your security rating before we can update you regarding the new protocols.

Can we do an exception this time I cannot have those shipments of Cuban cigars sit outisde your border awaiting for Terls approval, the others with the Cuban rum are on their way also, do those also need clearance or just send them straight to the Prancy Ponny?

Ship them in this time. You will have to submit to extensive dna testing and be implanted with a special device so that we can tell you from your rather destructive clone.

the others with the Cuban rum are on their way also

Shhh, the pirates will hear.

them straight to the Prancy Ponny

Ummm, send them to the Prancing Pony, as Prancy Ponny is a ne'er do well street walker from Rivendell.

Sorry, I did send mine encrypted using the Babelfish MkV. You must have had your decryptor still on Greldon. We are OK. Hopefully the darned pirates are not around.

.....and he wonders why the pirates always intercept his cargo!

Terl....I knew your transmission was scrambled, so no problem, but Shalom is still using the obsolete protocols that the pirates cracked.

Well...I have to go to the bank now.....be back in a couple hours.

Jaws

Thanks for the information. Anything before July is not recorded. Hmmm . . . Sounds like someone is changing the rules after the game has started. So, there is no reward for playing the game longer than 6 months? Is Stardock trying to get rid of us oldtimers? All I can say is "Doh!!!"

I agree with you, Mr. Jaws. This is sort of kick in the dorsal fin.

#96  by Veteran Disciple777 - 2/3/2004 1:41:04 PM

I only had a couple of games submitted before July, so I am on the safe side of the line

I think that Carielf said that something was wrong with the program and they were looking into it.
