We've edged into the lead, just 14 million points ahead.
I think an empire is disbanded only when the leader leaves. Ray is the official leader, and he's inactive - but, come to think of it, he may come back when Altarian Prophecy is officially released. If we formed a new alliance, we'd lose his points (unless he rejoined), and the points of anyone else who didn't follow us. Kicking out the zero-point players wouldn't affect our score, but there's also a number of other total-inactives who are contributing points. If we lost all of them, we'd be down at least a million, and who knows - maybe they'll come out of retirement one day.
Keeping them on wouldn't harm us directly, but some people may think it looks like we're an empire full of deadbeats.

Hi all. I sent you an email Matthew.
I play until my wrists say "stop" then I go watch a movie. Yesterday was a double feature starting with Chris Rock's HBO special (1996) Bring the Pain followed by the 1968 version of The Thomas Crowne Affair with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. It was a fun night at the movies to say the least. I think tonight is Steve Martin's LA Story (~1991?)

I've been looking through our membership list. If we were trying to cut out the deadwood, there are about 25 players I'd keep (out of 87), either because they've submitted a game during 2004, or because they're fondly remembered, like HawaiiFive-0.

Matthew, I say go full ahead with the merger after the Clone Wars is over. I also agree with pruning the tree if someone has no score. Folks can always rejoin. If nothing else, it will make the FotR roster easier to read. Thanks.

Don't see what's so likely about it.
Have you considered that Theoden might have had second thoughts about leaving and be preparing to return to the fold, taking as many of his people with him as possible? And can't admit it because I swore him to secrecy?
Or the Special Forces? Not many of them active now, on the verge of losing first place... A merger with us might create the greatest empire of all time!
Or the Jedi? GROSS? Canadians?
