Yes, I must start some more.
Changing the subject completely, is it true that they're going to reset all the metaverse scores at the beginning of next month?

It comes from some guy on the internet, of course. And if that isn't enough evidence, the fact that the rumour contains a specific date is pretty convincing. I mean, if it isn't true, how come there's a date? Huh?
If I were you, I'd stop playing for now, in case all your scores are rendered worthless.

The only thing I have heard about scores recently is the alternative metaverse we have been talking about in the audience chamber of the SH. I have heard nothing about a reset. But drop by the SH if you want to look at our ideas. For those who do not know where it is, look here: Link

Sigh.
Looks like the empire merger is off. Pity; I stood to make a fortune from insider trading.

I must get Altarian Prophecy... If I could get a decent score for alliance victories, I might play more often.
But tell me, Matthew, what was going on with that alliance thing?

Well, I'm glad someone asked.
What happened is that I met a Centurion on the Chat forums, and we discussed ways of rejuvenating old empires. We came up with the idea of a merger. At the time (at least, the way I remember it) the discussion centred on the possibility of the two Centurions joining the Fellowship (which would have taken us into a healthy lead over the Guardians and Forces), or a Fellowship that had been eviscerated of its retired members, or the formation of a New Fellowship. I gave him my email address, and we went away to raise the possibility with our respective colleague(s).
However, as the Centurions talked it over, loyalty to the eternal majesty and glory of Imperial Rome must have reasserted itself, and by the time they got back to me the merger had turned into the idea of the Fellowship joining the Centurions – minus, of course, those of us who do not meet the rigorous entrance requirements.
Never gonna happen.

Hmm, so that would have meant about 6 of you (including a couple of 'retired' players).
Good decision Matthew, that would have been going a bit too far

Chat goes quiet all the time. People connect, then wander away. I wouldn't take it personally.
Don't suppose you Canadians would like to desert en masse and join the Fellowship? The Metaverse needs an empire that can take on the magnificent Guardians, our closest friends, with their boundless energy, and grind them into the dirt.
Hm. I seem to be suffering conflicting emotions there.

Better check your relations screen, I think a nicely timed gift might be in order to maintain "warm" standing, let alone "close".

Well, I'm assuming that the Guardians are like the AI in an alliance. Once you've got them there, you can do what you like - esponiage, cultural conquest, breaking off trade, terror stars on their doormat, stealing post 5000 - and they just put up with it.

Well, of course Now let's deal with each of those:
Espionage - I think we have the spymaster in Theoden
Culture - your thread is a little over 1000, ours almost 6000. I don't think we have too much to fear
Trade - feel free to stop sending us new members any time you like, we're recruiting nicely now
Terror Stars - No, I can still see the sun, so none parked round here today
Post 5000 - I'll grant you that one Keep on your toes though, we could hit six today

Yes, but the posts here are, on average, more cultured than yours. Here, we discuss Kipling, Zen Buddhism and the films of Francis Ford
Coppola, while sipping a glass of vintage port and chuckling gently at our own wit. Your thread is mostly, "BOOM! Killing Yor is kewl. Heh-heh. Heh-heh." "The Yor, like, suck. Heh-heh. Heh-heh."
Not interested. I'm waiting for 10,000. At the rate you people talk, it shouldn't be too long

And I suppose the half a dozen posts earlier on this page were "just to test that all the smilies were functioning properly".
