We probably have. I have found many that don't work. But I have also found extreme ones that do.

Have what?
Just tried out another novelty modded game. I gave the pacifist party an extra little bonus - +500%PQ. For some reason, all the (major) AIs decided to pick this party too. The game was still reasonably fair (except the AIs didn't realise that you could colonise a PQ 12 and get a PQ 72), and interestingly different. I had taxes at 100% the whole time, and still got 100% morale, even without building morale booster buildings. You have to be careful with money, because your planets spend it at an enormous rate. Tech progress is very fast - researching Evolution Control took three turns.
And when I finally won, I found my game was flagged as anomalous! What did I do wrong?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Someone has found bribes so big that they don't work.

see if the Planet Quality metric is over 40. |

It was 510. Do you think that might have had something to do with it?

still find it more effective to interdict the aliens before they get to the planet |

That's not the type of situation I was thinking about. I was attacking a planet with Battle Hammers, and he had Frigates defending. I had att 8, def 6, he had att 12, def 5. He ought to have been doing at least 50% more damage than me per attack, and the first attack advantage would have only given me a lead of a few HP. In fact, one Battle Hammer destroyed a defending Frigate with only minor damage. I think it's a bug. Must do some more tests... I usually win without ever getting involved in a fair fight.

I thought only the defense doubled when a ship was at a planet, not the attack. I wonder if any of the defense improvements augment the ships defense, or only when an invasion occurs.
| |
|
They're supposed to only help in an invasion.
Try launching or landing any ship and you'll see the attack change.

Ok, I'll try that. Thank you.

Matthew, I tried out the 'Saint Pack', and I think it's great. The game took much less time to get to 100 morality.

Hey, they finally certified it! I hadn't realised. Great!
They say it 'equires' the removal of all your current events. This isn't really true - I just recommend it so you can be sure you're rid of all those lame events that don't give you significant morality shifts.
Also, be warned, it contains a couple of extremely silly events.
Anyone else who wants it can go here:

I think the 'silly' events are the best. Nothing like exploding Jar-Jar and getting positive morality.

No, the evil points are for torturing him on pay-per-view TV, so only the rich get to enjoy it.

Want some good stand-up? Look for the "Blue Color Comedy Tour" or "Robin Williams: Live on Broadway." Two of my favorites.
