LW, I'm surprised you didn't follow him and retrieve some. He proabably wouldn't even notice that half of it was missing.

Hi all. American football season is here. This might mean a little less Gal Civ AP but it's that time of the year.

OK, I'll bite. What's your team, and who do you like for the super bowl?

Steelers for me. It's a requirement for citizenship in SW PA

1. Seattle Seahawks (pro)
2. Oregon Ducks (college)
3. Oregon State Beavers (college)

Those are the teams I watch on TV the most. Favorites also included the Florida Gators when I had family working for the Gator's Athletic Department and Duke when a nephew played football there. .

But I like any good game and like watching great athletes make great plays.

After some consideration, I've decided to leave the Fellowship. I'd like to be part of an active empire again. There wasn't one around that appealed to me, so I invented a new one, with a bit of help from Technician and NewfyScotian.
Ric, we'd really like it if you joined us in The Foundation. I know the Fellowship has a great history, but it had to end sooner or later.
Anyway, whatever you decide, I wish you, and the Seattle Seahawks, the best of luck.

Have fun with the new empire, Matthew!

Ric, if you are still keen to Metaverse, I would also suggest that you join any of the active empires.

Maybe we ex-Fellowship members can link up again next time with Galciv 2 or other Stardock games that have clan support.

Hi Ray, glad to see you stop in from time to time. You were and inspiration to us in "the day".

Sorry been busy. Whew the meta has been tough. Over the last month, in spite of ten 60k games my meta score only went up by about 25k total. I lost ground on my last submission. .

I will think about changing empires as I think I am the last one here and we have the blessing or our retired emperor. Thanks for a great empire Ray. I will try to remember to turn out the lights when I leave.

We might need to combine several empires or something so we can compete with the Guardians.

Then I guess joining us is out of the question?

The best way to compete with the Guardians is from the inside. You have a better change of winning.

Ricbayer, how about the Foundation? We are a very active empire and currently in second spot. Sure we have only been alive for 4 days now but we have been gaining ground on the Guardians. We have a long way to go but we plan to have fun doing it.

By the way go and check out the metaverse review thread http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GE&id=131890#188568 Link

OK. Why not switch from one Great Fantasy Fiction series by Tolkein to a Great Science Fiction seris by Azimov? The names are attractive.

As the last active Senate member, I am calling on all Ringers still playing like Mr. Heaton and others I missed. Let's join the Foundation and see if we can recruit enough players to compete with The Guardians.

Thanks Fellowship of the Ring.

Cracks can only be seen with those who have their eyes open.

The Dead walk again!

Hi Ray! I haven't been here in several months, but I've got a bad case of insomnia today for some reason and I'm trying to fill the hours. Haven't touched Galciv in, well, a really long time.

By the way, have you looked at your raywanderer email? There have been a couple spurts of activity in Mexal's game and you didn't participate, and I was wondering if you'd just given up on that account. You might want to get in touch with Mexal. (But the game's gone for months without action now, so maybe not.)

Heya vincible!

Great to hear from you again. Almost gave up hope that anyone would respond as it has been 4 days since my post.

I've given up on the PBEM D&D game. It was kinda frustrating not knowing when Mexal is going AWOL for a couple of months but I don't blame her since we are not her primary RPG group by far. If there is someone who could commit to a more regular DM schedule, I would definitely be game.

I'm taking a break from Star Chamber and thought I would load up Altarian Prophecy and try the campaign. I didn't make it through the colonization phase of the 1st campaign (I chose Sucidal difficulty too). I think I need a brand new Galciv to reinstill interest into this game. My Totalgaming.net subscription is up though and I'm not resubscribing so I can't join the beta testing.

What have you been playing all this while, vincible?

Ray

I feel the same way about Galciv as you, I think. I loaded it up once or twice and after a couple turns was just completely overcome with boredom. Don't know what changed, but it is what it is.

After Galciv I went into a long spell where I didn't play any video games at all. Burned out, I guess. After a while I picked up Civ 3 Conquests. It's actually a really good game. The expansion pack got rid of just about all my (many) gripes about the original Civ 3. I'd really recommend it. I also picked up Master of Orion 2 for a bit, it's as good as it ever was...

Not really into anything currently--I had qualifying exams recently so I was all bound up in studying for those. I'm thinking about picking up a MMORPG of some sort. I've never played one before. (I only just got a fast internet connection at home so it was never feasible.) Not sure what to go for, though--I really don't know much about them.

I was playing some old games the past few months - Ultima 4, UFO Defense, Urquan Masters, People's General, Nethack and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms III, VIII, IX and X.

I would love to play an MMORPG but I know I would be hopelessly addicted. Everyone seems to be raving about World of Warcraft though. New titles are coming out almost monthly so you really are spoilt for choice.
