Not here. Everybody knows it was a setup. What's funny is that they're trying to deny it!

problems collecting your debts and before you decide to use the brutal/lethal/mortal/dangerous force

Would kidnaping a family member and mailing their extremities each day (or week) untill we get the dough be brutal?

I preffer 'capping' if thats the term.

Wow. I have an email on the subject of the That super bowl folly.

Dear Pontius: It was obviously a publicity stunt to revive a sagging career. I can't believe anyone thinks otherwise.

Sincerely, Madonna.

Yet another email:

Dear Pontius: It's obvious that cheap Fluzzie has no talent.

Sincerely, Brittany Spears.

It's obvious she's had some augmentation. Those are fake and that was a push up outfit.

Uggggh. I posted a 55k and my score went backwards on both the individual and the empire scores....

Must be wierdness going on.

Pontius

I posted this in the FOTR thread, wonder if this has anything to do with it?

After my last submission my score only went up about 3K, this was after the recalc.

I keep my own spreadsheet and was trying to work out why my score differed to the metavers score.. I ended up getting the figure right if I only included my current 30 day block plus the last 6. any scores before that seem to be discounted.

This would lose the incentive for long term play if this is the case. Effectively it puts a cap within certain limits on what score you can achieve.

BASTARDS!!!

...lemme check my score

#37  by Citizen KitWarrior - 2/2/2004 8:31:31 PM

nope... that ain't it for my scoring goof

#38  by Citizen KitWarrior - 2/2/2004 8:57:03 PM

OK, after further checking, my player score is REALLY close to being correct (this includes all 9 blocks). Unfortunately, my Meta score just doesn't make sense no matter how I cut it. Dang it! I must have order!

#39  by Citizen KitWarrior - 2/2/2004 9:14:41 PM

I just noticed for... probably the third time my 25th game is not listed in the Metaverse ranking. I got it in me blue bars and in me profile so it’s just something goofy with Carzy Ol’ Uncle Meta. Still no luck with the math, but I imagine (or hope) things will be better once I submit another game. Wo ist die Ordnung?!?!

"Carzy"

Jaws. That would tend to stink. So for someone like Cotal, who's taking a break, there is absolutely zero incentive to come back. Literally if that's determined to be the case I'll probably pack it in. No sense in submitting and competing for nothing.

Is the degradation still 10% and gets cut after 6 months? or how does it work?

#42  by Citizen Jaws the Wayfarer - 2/2/2004 10:21:30 PM

Pontius.

Currently its 5% for personal score and 10% empire score I think.

I'll do aniother test on the score when I post my next game unless somebody definately knows.

Somebody like yourself who played lots early on, will be really disadvantaged by something liek this and I agree it would stink. Even if they said anything over 6 months old is say at 50%, at least it would still count.

#43  by Veteran Captain Jack Sparrow - 2/2/2004 10:48:20 PM

Well alot of the latter scores are inflated so it's not as bad as it would be otherwise. But playing a game where I know I will be spinning my wheels after a few months in any case doesn't suit me. Especially since the computer has no chance of beating me.

This almost sounds like it would be better for any player who's been around a while to change their player name and start over.

No, that is considered part of "Agressive Diplomacy", I think you should visit our Diplomatic Academy for a small tour in the arts of Diplomacy.
