Actually I wonder how that would fare if modified for D&D... lets contact some people and....

~You encounter a giant
~I active my light sabre and guzzle two gallons of XXXXXXXXXXXX Ale
~You are now so drunk you make a regular drunk look good
~awsome.. I also light a medicinal marjuana and attack!

But Arr.. would totally reinstalling GalCiv aleviate my crashing problem?

and that Yor ship really creaps me out... are my citizens being transformed while I concern myself with managing my fragile economy with war going on, and controlling my military assets... three terror stars and a few defense fleets... while humanities finest get me to the next war tech..

You had no choice. You just can't get enough of us. An Alliance was the only way.

They had no choice and they can't get rid of us is more like it. Better to be friends with the pirates so they loot more of the other guy's ships.

Talk about Fortone favoring the bold. I got into a two front war. The Yor and Drengin were about to kick my butt. I was going to have to sue for peace and be a cheese eating surrender monkey.

Then Poof. The Fundamentalists take every single Yor and Drengin Planet. BWAHAHAHHAHAHA!!! OK BABY!!!!!

Just a few, like 2kish by my count.

Normal?? I dont know, I may take another stab at normal this weekend and see what happens but if not sub-normal inteligences for all will continue (till the alliance thing wraps up).

First, you are not normal. No one here is normal. We are all special, crazy, just plain weird, or a combination of the aforementioned. Second, play at whatever difficulty you are comfortable with. If it takes a while to ramp up, then take a while.

Cool. Take a stab at it once in awhile. Or just try raising 1 alien up (Yor) and leave the rest down That's what I did. Then I raised 2. (yor, Drengin) then 3. (yor, Drengin, arcean) etc.
