Hmmm...11 games in around 9 days. Not bad...

Let's see...the Guardians had 404 games on 3/2/04 and we have 515 games as of right now. That seems to indicate we've played 111 games in those days, however we did gain two players over that period.

You know, basketball is a great sport. I noticed something. The players were out on the floor. But the ones waving the towels, pointing at the other team, and carrying on were the bench warmers that were lucky if they get to play 30 seconds of a game.

It's the same in alot of places.

Just off the top of my head here, a hypothetical example from galciv. Please note this is illustative only and not meant to slam anyone. I've put together a sort of Clone wars all star team. Since I'm putting it together, I'm eliminated from contention. Remember, it's for illustrative purposes only.
The Starting Point Guard
Greldon 1,140,000
The shooting guard
Amulek, Bird of 1,205,460
Light
The power forward
Slothrop, Master 1,356,130
of V-2s
The starting Center
Lothmorg the Black 1,980,000
The starting small forward.
Canadian Technician 621,250

And the super sub.
J.T.Qwerk 525,932

Lastly: We need a towel boy to talk
smack, point at all the other teams, and wave the towels and hope to get in the last 50 seconds in a blow out.

Theoden of Rohan 247,210

And that concludes today's lesson about basketball. Enjoy March Madness.

One question, Cap'n. I see you've set bearings for March Madness. Is there a particular team/conference whose flag is run up the yardarm with the ol' Jolly Roger?

Well the spy master's a Pac10 guy (wsu)
The kit warriors a Big East soon to be ACC (vt) guy
We have a couple SEC guys, a big10 guy or two and a big12 guy or two.

So I'd better not committ the empire flag to a particular conference. We might have to change our ship name to the bounty if I did.

I live in SEC country. Personally, the way the SEC fans are talking, I'd like to see them all bow out early like they have the past 3 years. Only UK has gotten past the round of 16 and did so only once in that span.

Oh and I'd like to see Duke bow out too.
They've been a dirty team over the years and I'm sick of DUKIE V.

Boy. The SEC tourney is absolutely deserted. They keep cutting the camera when it gets beyond where the crowd is and going to another. But that Georgia Dome is about 1/2-2/3 empty.

Nice St. Joes. Get blown out early in the a-10 tourney. Uh huh. Ohhh we don't get no respect... We're a hands down #1. Ohhhh no one respects poor St. Joes..... Nice.

I'm with ya on the dislike for Duke. I'm an ACC fan here, and sick of seeing the dukies take the ACC tourney for the last 5 years. Would be nice if my alma mater wins the play-in game and knocks off Duke. Tough to do when the ACC tourney is always played in North Carolina, even if it is Charlotte.

It's time for KEELHAUL EM.

Dear Jack. St. Joes should have taken their conference tourney seriously. I mean what kind of message are you sending about your character when you dog it because it's not "The Big Dance." I mean they not only got beat, they got pounded. Didn't even show up. Do they really expect just to turn it back on again? KEELHAUL EM!!!!

Last year's Arizona team.

Dear Cap'n:

Don't you think Bertuzzi's suspension was woefully short? He's a disgrace to the sport of hockey.

WOOOT!!! Bring on the [explitive deleted] blue devils!

The double bonus of this win is that the Admiral that I work for is a MAJOR Duke Fan (he's even on the Duke Board of Visitors). Let's just say that if my boys pull it off, I will be wearing mucho UVa gear on Monday.

Bama played its way in Killing Tennessee faster than I can toast bread in my Yor Toaster.
S.Carolina or LSU will tomorrow, the other will sweat it out.
Vandy played its way in.

Washington played its way in. I'd like to see them get a 12 so they can pound a 5 into oblivion.

None of the SEC games today were even worth watching. All blow outs. And the dome was half empty.

Depaul played its way in.
