Yup. I hit download for ap, As soon as it gets to the first zip file, it rips me with that error and shuts the download down. No one seems to know even what that error code stands for. I have bagennzzz working on it at Stardock for me.

I may just have Stardock send me it on CD as well. I just wish I had a clue what that error message stood for. Of course it probably means the same thing as all those Microsoft error messages we get from time to time. Namely, "You're f.....d. No one has a clue why these things happen. Congrats."

| um. i az registered AP but when i iz downloading da zip file fails each time at da start. da download iz weird az da download rate (123K etc !) iz way above the what me 33.6k modem can handle. it did work once when der waz NO zip file, but just individual files, but i didn't have time to download it. |

I think that HTTP 8 error is because of a non-existant hyper text transfer protocol. In other words, I think, your comp is trying to dl something that isn't there. That is a bit of guesswork though, but I think somebody somewhere, Guardians maybe or my thread, were discussing that error. I think Slothrop could explain it if he drops by, for some reason I think he explained it last time. I assume you have e-mailed Cari.

Yup, and caught baggenzzzzz in stardock chat. They are working on it. Baggenzzz said he Will give answer tomorrow. But something tells me they don't quite know yet, the fix. I may have to just pay the extra $10 to get a CD of it. Probably a good idea anyway.

Capt'n try this, it is what I did. If you have registered etc.. then go to stardock central and select view tab from the menu and then select show pre release, make sure there is a tick beside it. Ok then goto tools in the menu and select settings. Go to applications in bold text and make sure show pre-release (alpha/beta) is ticked off, then the http error 8 thing should go away. Thats what I did and it worked for me
