Last night I played the most fun gig maso I've ever played, thanks to huge amounts of luck.
Start picks: Diplo+50, Range+1, PQ+5, Populist
Map: Gig maso, Rare titght clusters
Sol system: PQ 16 earth.... PQ 24 Sol V
Nearby yellows: 6, ranging from 15 to 20 (with one 14). One with two planets.
Colonization events: PQ events ranging from 19% to 33% on 4 of 6 systems.
Nearby AIs: no majors within starting range. Carinoids at edge of range.
Mid-game position: no AIs under neutral. Arceans to south and Drengins to southeast, both very weak. Yor to far northeast (weak), Alts to far east (strong) Tors to north (very strong).
Late-game position: bought all culture resources from Tors and Yor to solidify position. Invaded Arcs and Dregs with AMMs and Combattrans. Allied with Yor, Tor, and Alt for win.
Score: 54k
