OK, so we've had a FedEx delivery and now the groceries have been dropped off...are the Jedi not apying their bills lately?

Can't look at the books, I've got them stashed behind my horn, mixed in with the music.
We Sith stick together eh?

Band camp week one is almost over!
We've gotten a lot of work done. And we still have one more day this week. And then next week.
Be back tomorrow.

Ah, band camp. Did that 4 years, and wish I was still doing it. 2 weeks of hell, and 3 months of immense fun. Would have had to join drum corp though, and I don't have the money for it. And college doesn't have a football team or marching band.

Oooh, that's too bad. My 4 years of college marching were some of the best memories in my collegiate career/

One more week of camp and then its just regular rehersals!
I think that our music and drill are easier this year. We have a new band director fresh from college and he seems to want start with a relatively easy show.

What pieces are you playing?
| |
|
We're playing the hymn from Hunt for Red October and some Russian dances. I think they are simplified versions, but they still sound good.

|
Our ballad is something called The Fire of Eternal Glory.

Sweet! We did a Beatles show, Phantom of the Opera, and music from John Williams the three years I was still in band. I loved it.

My favorite show was a show of The Who's Tommy, two years back. Pinball Wizard kills Trumpet players though, which is what I played at the time.
Last year, I played Baritone and we did a version of a Bluecoats show from 2001 I think, our director marched for them. I wish I could remember their name for it, but ours was "A Time To Shine." Crappy name, good show. We actually had the guy who wrote it for them, who is a friend of our director, so he re-wrote it for us and made it possible for a high school band do a drum corp show. We got 5th at state when we had never been there before with our director, and gave the returning champs quite a run for their money. (We got the title stolen from us! ) We also had done the two years before Carmen and something called Latin Fever. That was bad, freshman year, and his first year directing.

message for Icho:
I played a few games with your Institutes mod. They all work fine except for Daystrom Institute. I looked at it with GalCivWriter and it has its power set at 3 when it should be set at 30. Even though the description in GalCivWriter implies that power is actual moves it is in fact +10 power equals one move. You can check Gravity Accelerators to see what I mean. The only reason I caught this right off is that my "+1 speed" anomaly didn't work until I realized that +10 power equals +1 move.
