Uh Hurley. I'm well aware of the actual history of the event. It's a joke. Sheesh. Have you gone Euro on us?

Nah, we gotta make the Guardians work a little harder before giving up first -- though scores seem to be inflated with the Beta so I bet they'll have us by the end of the month -- now I know how Apolyton felt when everyone blew by them. I got over 52 K for a medium... holy cow!

It's looks like the Guardian thread is already trashing Threadzilla...

Anyway, anyone still reading this have a good weekend... From the post counts, it looks like everyone is slowing down. Perhaps, the empires should consider taking the traffic back to the forum proper. At this point, there's just not enough traffic to get people involved -- in a way this is a Guardian problem too, because at this point they don't have any competition.

I know there are new players available to empires - I don't recognize most of the nicks these days....

Hi Cypher!

Raven's Claw will never have the mystique of Threadzilla...but I'm honored you have noticed the activity over there!

I agree we're not seeing the newbie traffic that we used to due to people not seeing empire talk in the Galactic Forum. We've got to stop hiding over here. Everyone should be posting a short line at the end of one of their posts inviting people to look into empires. We've seen slowdowns before...I still think the official AP release and a renewed interest in Stardock games with Political Machine will give us some new life. Not to mention an eventual GC2 release. Maybe I'm being optimistic, though.

I'm glad you posted a game...get a few of your crew to do the same! The Guardians like a challenge! I don't think the Fellowship will simply roll over, either.

We could ask them nicely.

Well, I'm back and now I'm a senator. By primary duty is to keep this thread on the first page in case anyone else wanders back - or wants to get in touch with us. The Special Forces remains a closed empire for now - but since we keep the empire together, I thought we owed to the community to at least pose of a semblance of life.

Also, I've played more than before I 'retired.' Galciv is my new solitaire - it's mindless and fun so I'm probably still remain semi-active.

Anyway, I really don't read the other thread anymore - but if you give me a shout here you'll get my attention.

Any other SF's out there?

Congratulations on your Senatorship!

I'm glad you feel that way. Empty shells of empires kind of make the place a little gloomier. Besides, it takes all the fun out of passing somebody if nobody is there to say something!

Wombie!! Sorry I was busy when you were here...great seeing you! Hopefully Cypher can mount a bit of a defense against the Guardians before we over-run you!

Hey! It's good to see some life here.

I hoping for some regular traffic here -- and it looks like people are dropping by.

Most of us have had the game for a year so our interest in cranking just isn't there...

It's strange how much the game has changed. Remember when the #1 player in the metaverse had 25,000 total points? The only way to stay on top is to continue to crank out games though all the scoring changes.. It makes good sense that Stardock would continue to inflate the scoring system because it allows new players to feel like they have a chance. After year of constant playing, most of us simply don't have the energy to try and keep up with all the scoring changes.

The game served a more important purpose in that it brought the Special Forces together as friends(our Melbourne group has even gotten together a couple of times).

The purpose of the thread is to keep us together, more than it is to compete. But if Stardock releases something new and exciting - we'll be back in force...

Glad to hear the old spirit is still alive. Keep it up guys, who knows maybe with a new expansion can make the game more interesting for the old folks.

And brought you wacky guys to the rest of the Metaverse as friends!
