screw-capped quality wine! (can open one handed!!)

I didn't know that quality and screw cap went together. The way to open a corked bottle with one hand is to shake it violently

One of my friends has a saying: never trust a wine without a screw cap. He's had bad experiences with broken corks, you see.

I've seen that done once with a bottle of champagne. It somehow got shook so hard and then left in a warm room too long that it spontaneously exploded, gushing out everywhere. Worse yet, the top embedded itself into a sheet rock wall. Luckily, it did not impact a person en route. I say somehow got shook because although we had a suspect in mind, he wasn't talking.

only recently, backlash against cork taint here in oz, world wide about 10% bottles wrecked by cork problems, some top aussie makers, moss wood, tim adams, grosset, moving to 100% screcap, mainly stelvin.

totally agree, have even had the experience of getting a dozen of A$50 per bottle out of storage and pouring EVERY bottle down sink due to a bad batch of corks.

Oh well, I'm glad your injury hasn't interfered too much with your drinking duties. Carry on, trooper!

Well, I see the old adage is holding true. Miss a couple of weeks on the Forums, spend a couple of weeks trying to catch up.

Why, exactly, was Ben/Obi-Wan missing for so long? Was he on a journey of spiritual enlightenment? Has he been engaged in a war against rampaging hordes of Tennessee insects? Job issues? Personal issues? Schnapps coma?

Good to see some activity left at the Special Forces Tavern. And on behalf of the American contingent of the troopers, happy birthday, USA.

Er...strictly speaking, those involved in transportation rather than production are charged with "bootlegging..." why do you ask?

Order received. Finding an overland route between Tennessee and Australia may take some time. Please be patient.

actually punchline for very good joke that I won't put here as it would offend some people

You probably still have my email address - I'm always up for a good chuckle. And these days, I'm seldom offended by anything except co-workers and attack-dog, mindlessly antagonistic political proclamations.

Gonna be a long year.
