I'm hoping to get a chance to play tomorrow night.

I'm toying with the AP campaign again. At "maso", the first two scenarios aren't too bad but 3 is unbelievable. The friggin Korx Excalibur is a killer. I'm working on some unconventional tactics to beat this one.

I just went to the Metaverse Empire page and lo and behold ANZAC is self destructing. More defections have dropped them down several hundred thousand more MPTS. Looks like 12th place is now secure!

I played a game last night - Torians and Drengins ganged up and crushed me. No points for you.

I'm surprised about the ANZACs, they have been around forever.

After winning a few games consecutively, I was beginning to feel like I had AP at maso crushed. That was until my last game where the AIs decided to use "tag team" tactics against me. No military and no influence leads to no victory.

Bromoser, I was feeling as you did, until yesterday. After a couple of starts, I had a nice map and was tooling around until I realized I was the only evil player and both the Altarians (chaotic good in my games) and the Torians were the only remaining majors. Needless to say, I started losing ground fast.

Restarting and switching to good, I did better, but the damn Torians just refused to be convinced to ally (resisting every gift and trick I could manage). I went back a third time, and this time, I managed it (barely). As soon as I can get back home and hook my laptop up, I can get the points.

Sheesh! I got only four hours sleep last night because of GalCiv - and you wonder why I only play a couple games a month?

Anyway, I figure it's time to d/l AP and start playing with that (and when it arrives in the mail, Halo for PC. That way I can kick ass at home and on the road!).

I just played 3 straight games where the Drengins ran away with it. Finally got a game where they were stuck in a corner - guess who got destroyed first

I think I see who your new nemesis will be...

Score another win for the "good" guys!! The evil died and the neutral were assimilated. I sure love a well coordinated culture attack!!

Nothing beats a good old fashioned invasion. The Drengins are the evil anti-Aldarians.

Wow! The other races are certainly in for a surprise!

The Guardians hate the Yor.
The Canadians hate the Torians.
The Aldarians hate the Drengin.
GROSS hates the Altarians.
Evil Empire hates everybody.

Drengins are grumpy because they have no holidays!!

DHABB or die!!

The Drengins must have heard about the Aldarian vendetta. They just gave me their last two planets!
SPLAT goes the "evil" ones.

Drengin have no sense of 'fun' what so ever. Must be all the heat from the Death Furnaces cooking off the brain cells. I mean you'd figure they'd be thirsty after all the heat.

Well, I was trying to beat campaign at "maso" level but scenario 3 might just be impossible at "maso". Solitair posted a strategy on the main forum for beating 3 but its apparent he was playing somewhere below "maso", since he talks about an Avatar instead of the Butt Kickin' Excalibur found at "maso". Oh well I guess its back to "normal" for me at least for the campaign.

Time to kill some Drengin to vent some frustration!

Oh well! I just got bit by the "alliance win unsubmittable" bug in the latest AP beta build.

I guess you got to take the good (the inflated scores for the AP beta's) with the bad (losing the points from a large, maso, alliance win).

I was thinking of taking a short break from my current pace of submitting games because of the severe diminishing returns I was experiencing anyway. Probably going to test other AP features for a few days.

I think I am going to wait for the next release to update.

I just closed the holiday nominations (a little too much skiing heavily and behaving badly this weekend).

Using the logic that if it is worth doing, it is worth doing to excess, I think we should add the following holidays to the calendar:

April 25 - ANZAC Day

June 1: Soaked Fruit Celebration Day - Everybody takes their favorite fruit and soaks it in their favorite liquor (or non-alcoholic drink for those who frown on alcohol). The Fruit will be consumed on Soaked Fruit Consumption Day.

June 15: Soaked Fruit Consumption Day - The day everyone consumes their soaked fruit and suffers from extreme DHABB (or for those non-alcoholic party-goers, watch everybody stumble around and laugh hysterically).

Aldarian Harvest Day, August 21st: Celebrates bountiful yields of barley, wheat, corn, rice, and other crops that can be made into booze. Of course, the new harvest is honored by drinking up what is left of the old booze stocks and behaving badly.

The Aldarian Senate is open for debate.

Is SHABB legal alone, without DHABB?

I was wondering if it should be SHABB or Ski-HABB?

There may have been a little drinking involved...

#171  by Veteran Aldar - 3/29/2004 5:52:22 PM

Or even better, Ski-DHABB

#172  by Citizen Moser_Alchemist - 3/29/2004 7:03:56 PM

Holidays are fine with me.

Skiing then drinking OK

drinking while skiing bad

Looks like it'll be awile before I can submit games.

Yeah, you'll spill your drink.

Yeah, you'll spill your drink.

That's alcohol abuse.
