Couldn't let 250 go by without preservation from marauding Jedi and Guardians...

Looks like Greldon took your threat to beat him to 1 mil seriously, Jaxom.

I suspect Jaxom will be at 1 million shortly as well! They have had an excellent competition to get here.

Absolutely! I expect he'll be there any minute now! No rest for the weary!

Oh well, congratulations Greldon.

My score per game dropped faster than I expected, yours didn't drop has much as I thought. Maybe I should have check with Paguma's tool make a better evaluation.

Want to bet on the first to reach 2 million?

How 'bout, "I'll meet you there".

Damn Greldon. That's tossing out the gauntlet now isn't it. And on Jaxom's home turf too. Sheesh.

Good, friendly fun! I like it!

I didn’t imply I’d get there first, just that I’d meet him there!

Finally made it to a million points. One game too late to beat Greldon to it.

Now I'll wait a day or two to pay my respect to Free Tibet/Ginata/Cotal before passing her.

Now that's class.

Congratulations Jaxom! Your race with Greldon to 1M was fun to watch.

For the rest of the RB folks and guests, I have been slow to start the next RB succession game mainly due to mucho activity here at casa Bam-Bam. Too many sick folks here (including me), so I have had to limit gaming time to the occasional solo game and the Training day game. Give me a week or so, and I will have a nasty maso variant for our next entree. That is, unless I get too sucked into MoO (if you haven't read Sirian's site, it makes staying away from MoO VERY DIFFICULT!

Again--congrats on the 1M Jaxom!

Congrats on making 1 million, Jaxom! It could've gone either way...like you say, just one game was the difference. Thanks for the competition.

Hey... JaxomCA... Grats on 3rd big guy! Woot!

Nice work Jaxom. Hard to believe that Cotal/Ginata/Free Tibet is no longer playing. Same with Jaws--maybe we can lure them out for a SG someday.

Here's an idea--an all-star SG with top 3 and former top three players...(would be a couple of teams, of course). That might be a nice reunion tour, eh?

Jaxom--have fun tailing (and or leapfrogging) Greldon on the way past Jaws.

Nice medal!

Bam Bam,

Just got finished reading the first two turns... Excellent stuff!

(insert bowing smiley here) I am humbled in the presence of gretness.

JaxomCA,

Interesting take on taxes. I'll be trying that approach you may be sure. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks damoose. I do not think I qualify as casting a presence of greatness....

As you can see, Jaxom has been kind enought to point out a couple of things that I missed, and there have been a couple of things I have seen in the trainees' turns that made me think. I had to delay my comments a bit due to some personal reasons, but the second year comments are complete, and I have boosted the speed of the game a bit. The turns should start flowing now, so we should be seeing some interesting times.

So using a few things I learned in the training game, I started and completed a Crippling game the last few nights. How you guys can finish gigantic games continuously, I can only guess. Early landgrab went well. I aligned early with the Torians. The Torians and me were up north. Altarians and Arceans in the center, Yor and Dren in the south. The Altarians were the first to fold and folded to me (I hadn’t even MET them yet? Should this be possible?) This gave me a foothold in the center of the map. The Dren were hurting, until the Arcenas with their 4 systems folded to them.

So mid game found the Torian/Human alliance versus the Yor/Dren alliance. North versus south. There was a tight cluster of planets to the far east that were still open. The Yor and myself found them about the same time. The Yor grabbed three systems I grabbed four. I had NOTHING out there to protect them. Neither did the Yor. They eventually brought up a dreadnaught. I still had nothing in the area so I began building anti-matter missles. Using AMM to clear the planets, I then followed closely with transports. This group of planets would end up being my source of recruits. Think “Attack of the Clones” except on a 7 or 8 planet basis.

I’ve rarely played a game this far down the tech tree, so I eventually came up against overlords. I had a nice stack of dreadnaughts/rangers running around. We were slowly grinding down the Yor in the center of the map. Sure, I’ll take it on. The one ship wiped out the ENTIRE stack. ::cough,cough:: I sue for peace. They gave me every tech I didn’t own except Avatar/Overlord. I researched those myself.

We eventually wore them down, but man was it brutal. The I-league showed up late game snagging two of the former Arcean worlds but it didn’t matter. It was just a matter of time. The last few invasions were brutal. Organizing an invasion with 11 or 12 transports on a 60 billion pop planet. After the dead on both sides were counted, it was well over 100B dead! The Torians held the lead and population simply because I invaded!

Anyway, with 3 planets left the Dren folded to the Torians, and with 4 planets left and overlords swarming in their space, the Yor folded. I was rather glad I didn’t have to invade another planet or two before they folded.

Time to bump up this thread a bit--and finally show make a post with a black shield. Oh yeah, and we're now above 3M.

If anyone from other empires is lurking about, what say you to a bit of a twist from the "spamming masoverse".

Let's say either a succession game (one or many teams) or a solo-play comparative game where the top players throw out most of their quick play tricks and maso crutches. Focus would be on telling the story of the game. I have a few interesting thoughts on some restrictions for the game. This would be for those players who are seeking a bit more of a challenge from the game, and wouldn't mind spending some of their gaming time playing and telling their stories. Think of it as a "beyond maso" challenge.

Who's up for this?
