If you count Hawaii and Alaska, the United States covers 5 different timezones (with one skipped between Pacific and Hawaii/Alaska time).
So when it's noon in hawaii, it is 5 eastern

And All I know about the difference in time is Australia got its olympic venues done in time, and Greece will not.
