What game is it?

Theo I think that you need to move down here to Florida, it is good weather for your little guardians. Come on down and we will open the GalCiv chapter of Central Florida.

Pretty happy here in Virginia, but I appreciate the offer!

That, and I got a game I had ordered through half.com. I need to stop getting other games (according to my wife anyway)

What's this??? Another game??? You know you're only supposed to play GalCiv!!!

Just kiddin'...what game did you get? And I've also never been to half.com...is that a discount software site?

An older one called Imperium Galactica 2: Alliances. It is real time 4x but is pausable (you can still give orders when paused) with real time space and ground combat.

Have the link to the site and how much it costs?

Imperium Galactica 2: Alliances

I have that. It's a fun game, though I never could get save games to reload, so I had to try to finish in one sitting (which I never did). I liked the espionage and the side "quests" it would send you on. Very fun!

Good morning!

Theoden: Best wishes, I hope it's not too serious. Terl's right, they grow out of it, mine did. It seems like my granddaughters take turns getting sick. My daughter is always taking one of them to the doctor, or at least it seems that way.

Terl: Don't worry too much about not killing any Yor this weekend.....Lothmorg and Slothrop killed enough for us all! But, I understand the inherent need to destroy the Yor!

It is part of ebay but no bidding. You can find some really good deals on there. Sure, the stuff is used but I've never had a problem. I also use it to sell the games I no longer want.

You know you're only supposed to play GalCiv!!!

~hangs head~ I know.... It is hard to avoid Rise of Nations, Galactic Battlegrounds, MOO3 (yes, I still play it) and others. I will be starting a GalCiv game tonight though.

As a side not though, the variety og games and the variety of reading gives me lots of ideas to write about...

Hi Greldon! Wow, what a weekend for you, Lothmorg and Slothrop!

Thanks for the well wishes for my daughter. My wife just called and said she has another ear infection, which absolutely astonishes me. She just came off of Zithromax (antibiotic) like 5 days ago!! That kid's a walking germ factory!!

The site is here: http://half.ebay.com/index.jsp Link

All the games vary in price depending on who is selling them. I have bought games for as little as $1 plus shipping ($5 total for a game with shipping). There are many great deals there.

Ebay is cool too. I almost had Neverwinter Nights for $11 but lost in the last minutes of bidding Stupid dial up sometimes...

Lothmorg and Slothrop killed enough for us all!

I am beginning to think that you and Lothmorg could have been an alliance by yourselves. What an awesome performance...Slothrop too! You guys rock!

Does anybody know what's going on with the Clone Wars Statbot? It doesn't look like it's been updated in a day or two.

#3085  by Veteran Theoden of Rohan - 3/8/2004 10:06:37 AM

kasualkid said something's wrong with Statbot but didn't elaborate. He did say he's working on it.

Wow, it appears the latest AP build is causing quite a bit of havoc. I'm not updating anything until they get some things straightened out. My build works and I am enjoying it, so I'm sticking with it...bugs and all. It is really weird seeing the AIs build a SB and then build another one right next to it, though. It would also be nice to see the AIs follow the same rules we have to in building SBs.

#3087  by Citizen Greldon - 3/8/2004 10:17:05 AM

Thanks, Theoden. I figured it was something like that, but wasn't sure.

I think I'm going to cut back some.....I'm only getting about 9k points for the first game of the day, and about 4K for the ones after that. I have to play 3 games to net 20K points. JaxomCA could submit one game and pass me again! Go figure! I think I'll try submitting one game a day for a while and see what happens. (don't know if I can play just one)

#3088  by Veteran Disciple777 - 3/8/2004 10:22:03 AM

Play more than one, and saved them, and then send it to me and I will post it for you.

I'd love to be able to get 1 gigantic finished in a day

As an indicator, can you let me know what game year your bombs usually finish in, and how far down the tech tree you get (might give some idea of why I'm taking so long). Cheers!

Actually, I was going to suggest this anyway! I don't want you or Loth to get burned out...you need to be around for the long haul! Play as many or as few games as you are comfortable playing.

Usually in the spring or summer of 2190. If you finish before January, 2190, you only get 30K for the game. I try to get Gravity Accelerators and Diplo Translator, and speed and military techs. Once I have the Ranger Tech, I just research whatever might be useful while I click through the months to get to 2190.

Just wanted to send out some kudos to some very deserving members:

Naqmir has broken 200,000 points and is at number 55. The next submission should push him into the Top 50!

Droid5150 is just shy of 200,000 points and just needs to get that submission problem fixed for him to get into the Top 50!

Mortis494 is almost to 100,000 points and with his next submission should get there! Though he's number 170 now, with his recent scoring and submission rate, he should be breaking into the Top 100 pretty soon!

rbloom submitted a game on Saturday and is currently playing at Crippling level! A few more games and he'll break into the Top 200!

littlewotts submitted a Gig/Tough game early this morning and now is at number 240! He's another one headed to the Top 200 quickly!

Terl, our Scribe, is currently writing some new stories! He's at number 247 and is going to start a new game tonight!

Magnumaniac submitted two games yesterday and now is at number 472...though I don't suspect he'll be there for long, with his submission rate and scoring!

Monte Carlo is cranking out games in the Defiant class of the Clone Wars and working his way up the difficulty ladder. He's on his way up the standings soon!

I want to thank all of you who have submitted games, wrote stories, chatted here in the forums or in our private forums, and just generally participated in the empire! Combine all of the above efforts with the extraordinary efforts of Greldon and Lothmorg the Black, and you get the greatest empire in the Metaverse!!

(That's a congratulations to every member of the empire!)

I told you in the beginning that your empire is marked to be one of the bests.

Well, I'm going to go home now and take care of the baby. Everybody have a great day and take care.

If I'm lucky, I'll squeeze in a game while she takes a nap!

See everybody later!

Oh, remember to vote on our logo over in the private forums...Bye!
