An arrangement has been made to collect all the spare bits of flotsam and jetsam hanging about in space with the Intergalactic Refuse Corporation. The parts will then be sold to another galaxy for use by Vogon constructor fleets. The Vogons are overjoyed with the ability to procure inexpensive paving material and have offered to recite various poems for the United Planets.

The Vogons...have offered to recite various poems

Bam Bam...have you ever thought of joining the Guardians? Great stuff!

recite various poems for the United Planets.

The United Planets quickly passed a resolution outlawing the public reading of poetry. They did heartily encourage the Vogons to seek out nearby pirate lairs in the chance that the pirates may enjoy a good recitation of Vogon poetry. The Vogons were delighted to oblige, especially when they realized the pirate's exclamations of "ahoy matey" and "walk the plank" were quite exciting double entendres when translated into Vogon.

I love the Hitchhiker references, Terl!

Well, it's time to get outta here for the day! I've got a meeting tonight, so it doesn't look good for GalCiv tonight.

Well...maybe I might slip a game in late tonight...

See you guys later!

For Honor and Justice!

Me too. I've been listening to it all day. I have the original bbc radio broadcasts...lots of fun

I have the BBC video broadcasts on DVD. Pretty funny, but the storyline is weird.

Hi guys - busy day in the forum. Unfortunately, I had some RL to take care of.

Terl, as always, magnificent

LW and Theoden - I haven't had any problems with AP games CTD at the end, and I usually TS the last race into oblivion. Talking of which... BOOM!!!

That should keep that pesky Littlewotts off my tail for a while

Seriously though, great job LW. 59640 is as near as dammit to a boom, but I have seen one score of 59990 in the Metaverse somewhere. In fact, it might have been Naqmir.

Magnum, you got your red shield!!

My last game was the same size and I got 60k, I dunno what was up with that. Who cares, I'm having fun.

That's what it's all about.

I changed my starting picks for that last game, and it was so easy it was like playing at 'normal' again

Took Populists, +30% Economy and +60% Diplo - all the AIs just wanted to virtually give me everything

#4161  by Citizen littlewotts_ - 3/15/2004 6:26:41 PM

Oooo...I think I'll try that.

Any tips on starting AP? I am downloading right now. Should I start at the same level I was playing GC, ie at challenging?

yup it was me. I've had 1 or two close calls.

Somewhere earlier somebody mentioned that they thought tributes over 100 turns wouldn't work, but in my last game i found 5 for 400 turns is effective aswell.

Congradulations Lothmorg and Terl!!

Shouldn't be a problem Terl - if anything, AP is easier because you've got so many more trading opportunities. See my post a few above this one. That was one easy maso game

And the competition for third place is getting hot red in intensity, now Greldom has ben moved back to 4th place but separated by just 2k, what is going to happen next?, no one knows for sure

1-Jaws the Wayfarer 127 1162145
2-Free Tibet 146 1010752
3-JaxomCA 85 983904
4-Greldon 112 981052

Now that's interesting....

50K+, Large map, alliance victory in a little over 2 hours - and my entire military roster was 1 survey ship and 1 scout for the whole game Also never built a single constructor.

In contrast to one of the games I had at the weekend, I don't feel like I really earned 50K there

Still, not going to complain because it's taken me into the top 100

Congrats, Magnu!

Wow. Today sucked. I was swamped all day. The real bummer is I might have to cut back my forum time at work for a while. Those logs are getting big.

I see Greldon lost 3rd and then got it back. Good work, G!

Thanks again for the election to Guardian Knight. I am honored. Thank you all.

Working on another game. Have to check the Senate Halls (neglected to do all day).

Talk to you all later.

That one was definetly classified as a soft piff sound rather than a BOOM. Oh well, another day another few points.

Haha As soon as I changed my government to Populists, and picked 50% Diplo and +2 trade routes I beat maso 3 times now yeahhhhhhh

and congrats to Loth, and Terl being promoted to Guardian Knights.

Poetic Justice

I started a game in my newly acquired AP last night. Oh good, the stinking Yor are one sector over . After playing a while I decided it was time for the Yor to go bye-bye. I moved a fleet of warships around their lone planet but before it got there I bought three transports from them for a bunch of techs. I then invaded the planet with the transports they just traded to me This game is so much fun to play...

You do realise this means that after the battle, your new planet was entirely populated by Yor soldiers?
