Thank God it's lunchtime...I can get away from work for a bit!

Hopefully after lunch won't be so stressful around here...

I'm pretty sure that horse is now dead.

Aren't Texas and California technically called republics though?

How's it going, Terl?

Busy at work. I wanted to get back to more story writing but my boss wants me to work.

Damn bosses!

Hey people, I finally posted the Beginners' Guide (such as it is) over at the Guardian Halls in the Maso Strategies thread. Hope it helps.

If you think Virginia is tax happy, move to Maryland. I've lived in both--I prefer Virginia's method (although the car tax is ANNOYING). Not that I do not like Maryland, mind you.

Hey everybody! I was just catching up on the posts here, and, yeah, this empire rocks.

Someone mentioned amazing wasn't quite enough the word so here's some more: awesome, incredible, marvelous, prodigious, astonishing, astounding, impressive....

Think yourselves lucky you don't have to pay the fuel tax we do in the UK

#4382  by Diplomat Technician - 3/17/2004 1:13:38 PM

Almost 80 cents per litre in Toronto.

What is gas running in the UK these days ?

I would think 100 pence is approx 250 cents.

So in UK terms gas would be about 30 pence per litre in Canada.

Of course our cars are much bigger and we do not drive on the wrong side of the road.

77 pence per litre over here which would be about $1.90 Canadian, or $1.40 US. That works out at well over $5 US for a US gallon

In my last game, the Yor got the PQ 35 event and one of their worlds turned into a PQ 57. I blew up the systems with a TS, but had I flipped the world, and the planet stayed above 50, would that have generated an anomalous score?

I don't know about the anomalous score yet allowing all the Yor to live, even though they flipped would be a travesty

That'll make you think twice about a senseless trip somewhere.... wow!

In the UK cars are much smaller than Canada or the US.

I would think most cars get under 5 litres per 100Km.

The UK is small compared to the US or Canada if you went on a trip you likely not have as far to drive.

That's a bit off the mark I'm afraid - I have a very economical 1800cc normal family car, and 100Km would use about 7.5 - 8 litres.

No. Ugly, stinkin, nasty zeros are not genereated from random game events. However if you used a game mod that gave you an empire bonus of PQ +50... that would generate a zero. In fact any time your empire PQ bonus goes over +40 you'll get a zero.

Actually two. But Her Holiness removed the first one.

Finished my second game ever last night. I was trying to weeken the only major left with culture bombing before military and then some galactic change took place and all those party palaces I had been building, with little effect, kicked into overdrive and I controlled ever sector in the galaxcy and I cruised to a unexpected cultural victory. Never underestimate the power of a good party.

Hey guys...sorry I've been so silent today. Work has been pure hell.

Great job on your cultural victory, ED! It's funny how a game will change in the blink of an eye sometimes.

LW, glad to hear you vaporized that Yor system. Those kind of events should never happen to such vile beings as the Yor. But no, if it happened to you, it wouldn't cause an anomalous.

Thanks to all our friends for visiting our thread! We've been host to quite a few visitors today! Remember, drinks are only on the house until 5:00 PM Eastern!
