Nice review Theoden! Enjoy it as always!

Off to school. And I will try to bounce a few balls tonight.

Nothing like Ina Gadda Divida in it's entirety to brighten your day. I love the local rock station.

You know, I'm starting to have second thoughts about the Yor. They were amazingly useful to me in my last game. They started in the sector next to Sol, and managed to knock of the 2 Drath planets in the sector to my NW corner. Around mid game I managed to flip all three Yor planets without much effort. But the Alexins (sp?) in the Drath home sector just ignored me. Well, I bribed the Yor to attack. He did, and took the minor out, then fliped on the very next turn. Good little Yor. I might have to become the Yor Enslaver (blah ha ha ha ha).

That's certainly an acceptable way to deal with them! Great job, Genghis!

Hi LW! Still working on that remodel?

Theoden - Thanks for noticing my activity and thanks for your kind words on the SF thread. I couldn't give the game up... it's my new solitaire.

Besides I have to stick around so at least one person from the Special Forces is here to congratulate you when you take first place. I've been around lot enough to recognize the Special Forces was losing momentum - I just didn't expect anyone to be able and build up enough points to overtake us so quickly -it's an amazing accomplishment. Perhaps, we should hold a pool for what date we all think you'll hit #1! I'm voting for April 1st...

Cheers,
Cypher

Yeah. I'm working on the wiring now. The house was built in the 1940's from materials taken from a military base that was downsized after WWII. It's a pain. The circuit panel is a rat's nest.

We can't believe our success ourselves! Just as when SpecFor first started, we have a dedicated group of players. Out of 22 members, I think the Guardians have about 20 who are submitting regularly! Strength in numbers, I guess...

thanks for your kind words on the SF thread.

I meant every word. I'm going to sorely miss those guys (and gal). Make sure you stick around and say hi every once in a while.

You know, you could lead a revival of Spec For... You never know what a little recruiting could do.

My first house was built in 1950. Thank God it had already been re-wired! But still, those old houses are a pain to do anything with. I feel your pain.

Needless to say, I have since moved into a brand new house! I strongly recommend it!

That's one of the things that attracted me to the Guardians. As a new player of the game, I needed to be in an active group to be able to leech information out of them, and to be honest, having empires with lots of "zero" submission members isn't good advertising. It might be worth the emperors kicking out the deadwood and streamlining their empires in order to attract the new recruits that will come along when AP gets a retail release.

I can not believe the crap I am finding in here. There are some 220V in-wall heaters (no forced-air heat upstairs yet) and it was running on cloth covered 12-2 AWG wire. The neutral is a single wire that was 'twist and taped' together and I think it's tapped off of antoher circuit altogether as I can't find it in the breaker box. Who ever wired this needs to be beaten with a stick. Must have been a Yor. But it will be all done soon and I can return to blowing up stars and invading planets.

This would certainly make the Metaverse a different place. I've never been a big fan of kicking players out of an empire, but sometimes you wonder what would happen if everybody "streamlined" and we saw who was really active around here. Still, the Metaverse is about more than scores...at least to me. There are some dedicated individuals who never submit scores but contribute to the community (Geoffrey Montgomery comes to mind). I think it would certainly need to be on a case by case basis, and certainly a decision that would not be taken lightly.
