So, a quick poll, what do twenty 60k maso military victories sound like?

Like this, only more so: http://www.3dcafe.com/sounds/gunfire/firewrks.wav Link

Good Morning Guardians!!

Actually, I've been at work for 40 minutes already, but they hit me as soon as I got here.

Great job last night guys! We keep closing the gap on Special Forces. They even submitted some last night, but we've closed the gap to 362,612! We're on a march!

Congratulations to Greldon for marching to first place!

Lothmorg is back in fifth after submitting 2 games yesterday! What a dogfight between Loth and Aaberg!

Great job Magnum on your two submissions yesterday! You're sneaking up on Naqmir as the top Overlord in the Guardians! Also, congratulations on getting Vice Admiral!

Mortis494 is silently destroying the Yor! You're not too far out of the Top 50! Way to go!!

Monte Carlo got one in and moved to #76, right behind Mortis494! Congratulations!!

Way to go exalteddruid for your first Challenging victory yesterday!!

Great job guys!

I didn't get a chance to play last night...I'm looking forward to crushing some Yor this weekend!

Bonscott joined us over in the private forums, bringing the total number of Guardians signed up over there to 17!! I'd say 17 out of 22 is pretty good, but I'd still love to see those other 5 join us over there so if you haven't signed up yet, visit this http://diplomats.galciv.org/forum/index.php Link today!

You know what's funny? We have more Guardians signed up in the Senate Halls than the Diplomats do!

I want to take a moment to thank all the Guardians for your participation in the empire. Without all of your efforts, we'd never be where we are today. Not only are we a successful empire in points, we are a successful empire as friends. It's been great empiring with all of you!

For Honor and Justice!

Morning (well, afternoon here) all!

I guess all the Guardians were celebrating Greldon's ascension last night

Or just resting before the big push to No.1 at the weekend

Amulek, please give us a warning when your phone line gets sorted - I'll want to get the ear-defenders on before you submit that lot

Will do, Magnum.

Amulek...first congrats on getting 5400!

Have you thought how submitting all those games at once will affect your score? You might want to submit some one day and some the next so you get the maximum amount of points. Not sure what the magic number would be for that, though...

#5407  by Citizen amulekbird - 3/26/2004 9:12:05 AM

I'm not so concerned about how the points will affect my score--I know that every 60k game I submit makes my score go up. If it doesn't go up much, that really doesn't bother me. I just want to have the joy of submitting a ridiculous number of games all at once.

Then by all means, submit away!

According to the 'blocks' theory of metaverse scoring, it will score the same whether you submit twenty games in one hour, or one a day for twenty days, as long as it all happens in a single monthly scoring block. Some heretics claim that waiting a couple of days will automatically boost the scoring effect, but most reputable metaversitians would dismiss this as primitive superstition.

So, am I a heretic or a unreputable metaversitian?

Good to see you Matt!

I think I can best answer that question by having you burned at the stake... Burn him! Burn the heretic!

The boosting effect with the delays is due to previous submissions changing blocks. If there isn't any movement, there won't be any boosting effect.

OK, rough calculation. I think Amulek will get just short of 100K mpts with 20 60K submissions and shoot into the top ten - but I could be wrong

I regret that I only have one copy of GalCiv to give for my empire...

100K sounds good to me.

That's okay...I'm sure the pirates have a few extra copies laying around.

Good morning, all!

Good morning Number 1

Good morning, Terl! Are you playing another maso, and do you like maso now that you have a couple games under your belt?

I did not get to play last night but I can say I will only be playing maso from now on. It is an incredible game to begin with but on maso it is even more so. I like the tension as you start so far behind.

Also would like to add that the Korx are becoming my number 2 right behind the Yor in my "Terror Star things to do places to blow up" listing.

Morning Greldon and Terl! I've just been catching up in the Strategy Forum...speaking of which:

Galactic Guardians Award Ceremony

I'd like to announce that Monte Carlo and Magnumaniac have been awarded the Strategic Medal for their service in helping others in the Strategy and Galactic Forums. Their recent activity has helped spread the influence of the Guardians and increased knowledge of the game to many players. Congratulations and well done!

I know that it seems like I've given out a lot of awards lately but everybody is contributing so much, it's hard not to reward the activity! All the Guardians are quick to help others whenever asked and act above and beyond the call of duty all the time. I just want to recognize special efforts when I can.

I actually kind of like the Korx. It freaks me out every time I realize that they don't have mouths, but I find them pleasant to deal with, even when they are demonic.

#5423  by Citizen amulekbird - 3/26/2004 10:33:49 AM

Ah, Theoden, you interrupted the thought train. My comment was referring to Terl's new hatred to the Korx, if anyone is wondering (I know. It should be obvious, but I'm a teacher. Nothing is obvious. )

Not me. I find it harder to keep steady relations with them. They seem to drop from friendly to neutral-cool quicker than others. They just seem more high maintenance. I adjust their attitudes the old fashioned terror star way. Yor first, then Korx, then Altarians, Torians, Arceans, Drengin and the Drath (I kind of like them although they did overstep their bounds in the last game which was recitfied by a terror star).
