I'd definately like to see that strategy guide!

Now, now, Greldon. I'm trying to pass you. Why would I share such delicate information with my opponent?

It doesn't hurt to try!

Wow. Really quiet today.
Anyone heard from Theoden since Saturday?

It is, but I think most of us have been quite busy. I have not heard from Theoden either.

Theoden, I have a news items for you that you couldn't have written and still sounded fair and balanced:

Clone War Individual Challenge Results: (news item)

In the clone war thread, Cypher Pax boosted that he would make fleet admiral in March (would need 15 games. Lothmorg made a similiar claim and Cypher planned to keep up.

While Cypher Pax managed 7 games to get almost 90% of the way to his goal, Lothmorg seems to have submitted enough games in the month of March to have made fleet admiral on the strength of his March games at alone.

Asked if he felt bad about losing the challenge, Cypher Pax responded 'No, my defeat was just a more personal version of the butt-whipping the Galactic Guardians have handed the entire Metaverse. The Guardians now dominate in total maso games and metaverse points and will dominate in the arcane calculations that make up the metaverse in a matter of days, if not hours... Since they'll soon run out of challenges, let's see if they can top the Special Forces record of having 7 overlords in the top 25 at one time (Ginata, Jaws, Wombat, Mr. Furious, Harel, Cypher, and Killa)... that should keep them busy into mid-April. That's all we have left..."

(end news item)

GO GUARDIANS!

Challenge accepted, but not necessary. As you can see from our record, many Guardians strive to be the best. Besides, they all want to knock off old #1!

Greldon - with friends like you got in the Guardians, who needs competition from Jaws/Ginata.

I'd personally be most afraid of Terl -- the scariest thing for me when the SF was in high gear was to find out a certain duck or koala had written me into one of their stories...

By the way, Terl - what happened to your fiction?

CypherPax - My Guardian friends are all fantastic! Their progress is really phenomenal and they're all after the gold...who can blame them!

Terl has been really busy with RL but there will be more stories to come, rest assured. When he and the other fine writers we have, start writing about my demise, then I'll worry. In the meantime, I enjoy being in the stories.

The big problem with my class, the Olsen twins are in my graduating class. Ugh. Nice to look at, but good for nothing else. BAH!

Aren't they billionaires?

A worthy goal. We have 9 in the top 100 right now, and 3 more in the top 250 or so.

Of course, that's easy for me to say. I'm still looking up at all of them back from page 16... Ah, well - just have to get busy...

Greetings Guardians!

I've posted a couple of times (over at Galactic and Strategies) and interacted a little with Lothmorg and Theoden, but wanted to introduce myself as I would like to join the Galactic Guardians. (I will have the game this coming weekend!)

I am a long-time (that means, "old") TBS-gamer and have been thoroughly enjoying the demo. (Although I will readily admit that the AI is giving me a run for my money even at the lower difficulty levels! Makes me stand in awe of those who are even approaching maso, and makes maso nearly unbelievable!)

I will probably create a new ID when I register my game (as I've got a great handle in mind). And I'm guessing that the proper 'order' would be to join the Guardians immediately after that--if you'll have me.

I'm watching this thread, so will answer any questions that you might have of me. (And yes, I enjoy and look forward to killing "those who must be killed," a.k.a., the Yor!)

Hi GH. Don't worry, you'll get there. It's just a matter of time. It was November 22, 2003 (only 4 months) when I submitted my first Beginner difficulty win. (can't believe it's only been 4 months since I started)

Welcome, DATarbell! Looking forward to Yor killings with you! Let us know when you are all set up, and Theoden or one of the moderators will set you up in our private forums.

Greetings DATarbell!

We'd be most pleased to have you join our ranks! After you register your game you can join the Guardians. We're looking forward to your arrival.

#5791  by Citizen Magnumaniac - 3/29/2004 5:12:21 PM

Hi DATarbell, I've seen your questions in the main forum and it looks like you've got a good appetite for the game.

The Galactic Guardians is an open empire, and anyone is free to join at whatever level they play at.

You will be more than welcome here, and in our private forums: http://diplomats.galciv.org/forum/index.php Link whenever you want to join. Register over there under any name you want, and one of the moderators will give you access.

Welcome, and enjoy.

There will be more coming. There are a couple posted on our website for all to see. Thanks Cypher...I like feedback.

BTW I am in upstate NY too. Near Saratoga

Sooner than you think right now I've only been playing a month (well first game 25th Feb), and once you get it sussed...... those Yor don't have a prayer

[emerges from the woodwork]

Greeting DATarbell! Good to see you over here!

You have picked a fine empire, nay, the best empire to join. We value the company of our fellow Guardians over their game activity. If you submit 10 games a day or 1 a month, you will be welcomed warmly.

We want everyone to enjoy the GalCiv experience, and the empires make the most of it, in my opinion.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post right here and someone will get back to you shortly. Seems there's always a Guardian around at all times (littlewotts!).
