Getting out of here. Be back soon.

I'll pass on the aspirin. What I really want is the game and an unlimited supply of energy! (And I'll take a dose of your 4 month's of experience, while I'm at it. Looks like it didn't do you any harm!)

I think you'll find everyone is happy to advise rookies and answer any questions you might have. If we don't have the answer we can usually point you towards somebody that does.

I micro-manage by decreasing the tax rate (and spending) to improve morale. Like Lothmorg, I try to keep it as high as possible. With a happy population, all things are possible.

Aha! It seems that my feeble mind might have just connected two more of the dots. Are the invasion forces that you load onto transports simply deducted from your planet's population? (In which case, it would seem that periodic warring would be extremely beneficial for "decreasing the surplus population.")

Lothmorq, is the combat transport, regular transport or colony ship your ship of choice

You have picked a fine empire, nay, the best empire to join.

*cough* *cough* you mean tied for the best empire don't ya lothy?

As I've been catching up on the Galactic Guardians thread (...rubs his eyes...)

but greldon is it worth it past the 6.6 billion mark i know it boosts production and research but is it worth the drop to your total income?

You're gonna do just fine!

Hummm... picking low morale planets to ship off excess pop is a good tactic when you don't want to lower taxes across the board. And supplies you with troops. Not that you G-men need troops... I mean who would you use them against? Hummm?

There's an interesting post by Peace Phoenix over in the Senate Halls' Help and Support forum: http://diplomats.galciv.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=385 Link

Basically it points out that when you reach a certain pop on planet, there is no point keeping morale at 100 because you exceed the max pop growth per turn cap.

Makes life a lot easier if you shoot for a morale level of 60%

Never let a straight line escape!

Could it be... perhaps... THE YOR?

Depends on your finances my fine druidic friend. CT's cost 6bc per month to maintain, col ships cost zip. Reg Transports cost 2 I think, so they're the worst of the lot.

Also Col ships have an unlimited capacity, so if you're looking for a quick, cheap fix.....

If the system defects you loose a lot more. Besides, the population will return to pre-spacing levels pretty quickly. (I use the +10 Population Ability pick)

transports carry twice the pop of Combat transports and your saying the ct's cost 3 times to maintain as well?

? I thought transports only carried 1M, Cbt Transports 5M

I don't build many social projects unless I need them. So many times when morale becomes an issue, I can build things that increase morale, such as habitat improvement.

#5840  by Citizen Evil Druid - 3/29/2004 6:29:43 PM

I thought it was 10 m to 5 m

Transports = 1 billion
Combat transports = 5 billion
Colony ships = unlimited

#5842  by Citizen Genghis Hank - 3/29/2004 6:33:13 PM

Oh, I keep forgetting it's billions. Can you imagine a ship that could hold 5 billion people!

#5843  by Citizen Greldon - 3/29/2004 6:35:22 PM

Time to go home, so I'm outta here! See ya later!

Transports = 1 billionCombat transports = 5 billionColony ships = unlimited

I stand corrected. Also just looked up trans cost 75 and maintenence 2. CT's cost 120 with 6 to main. My whole line of thought was based on an incorrect premise. Thanks for correcting for me.

Okay, now I'm really gone!

Later Greldon!

Actually, time for me to head home as well...

Later all!

Not so fast, Diplo (...as the young apprentice emerges from the shadows...)

#5849  by Citizen Major Dallas - 3/29/2004 7:46:03 PM

Cool. I scared him off! (The young apprecentice's eyes grow wider as a low, rumbling sound begins to swell. He turns in terror as XqEvangelist returns with ALL of his Diplomat brothers. Recognizing that this many Diplomats is never a good sign, the young apprentice turns and flees for his ignorant and foolish life!)
