I was close to that as well. Early June I started Beginner and by the 18th of June I won my first maso.

That's the thing that I was looking for--and found--in GalCiv! That wonderfully addictive "just one more turn." It just pulls you in and won't let go! Too fun!

Yes I will. I'm a former Civ'er (1, 2, and 3), a former MoO'er (1, 2, and, ashamedly, 3). And a total fan of trading sleep for "just one more turn."

Ah, you will fit in quite nicely here with all of us then. I used to play CivIII, and still do a bit, but I am more of a real-time strategy, not turn-based. CivIII and GalCiv are the only ones I can play of the turn-based.

I have not had the pleasure of Civ3 yet. Don't really know what I'm waiting for either. 
I still have fun with Imperium Galactica 2 from time to time.
Not much of a RTS'er here. I don't do twitch gaming very well, and sometimes RTS's come right down to who can do what the fastest. Although I still love Total Annihilation to death. Even, what ... 7 years later.
