I look forward to the upcoming alliance contest |

I do too!

I just looked at it, and not know what I'm looking for it seems ok. It shows the game being submitted, but I didn't see if it got a return message or and error at that point.

By the way, littlewotts:

I wholeheartedly agree with this strategy! Build up your skills in each map size and you'll get better at the higher difficulties. I spent a lot of time on Challenging and I think it helped me develop my skills to go into the more difficult levels.

Once I had went to 1.19 the challenging AI had becom just that. I lost 4 games in a row, within about 30 minutes, so my last game I backed down to normal on a large map. I'll try challenging again tonite I think.

As long as you're having fun, play what you like!
I was pleased to look over each Guardian's stats and see that most of us have submitted (or tried to...sorry littlewotts!) a game or two the past few days! Not only does this give us a lot of empire points, but it proves that we are all still enjoying the game and that's the important thing here. Great job everybody!

I also find it easier, but more time consuming, to play the larger maps. Gives you a little more breathing room.

I think it's an unstated fact that the easiest maps are Large and Huge. I still find Tiny and Small to be very easy. Medium is a horror, in my opinion. Gigantic is just too dang big.
| |
My losses I submitted were all on small maps. While I was driven to pick up the shiny for 5 of them, I was also trying out the maso strategies I read. And I tried them on the few other levels. And I got rocked.

I'm sure if I tried a Tiny map right now, I'd have my butt handed to me pretty quick. Well, until I changed gears, but that's too much like work, so I'll stay at Gigantic.

I think the bigger maps give you a chance to do the planet rush. I've found I do a whole lot better when I have at least one more star system than the AI.

Here's a question: I've never tried, but can one make a starbase with a party palace and then make it a terror star so you have a mobile party palace? |
I do that, but I've never really checked the affect. I ended up blowing apart stars with it, rather than culture bombing.
| |
Yup...combine them for a mobile party spectacular! I've had to resort to this tactic a few times...
| |
Yes, and it is a favorite tactic. They flip before you reach them, and if for some reason they don't, blow them out of the sky. |
Oooo!!
| |
I commonly will make Terror Stars out of existing resource SBs, since they are so conveniently placed in the middle of the enemy's territory. This is especially helpful when an enemy has a clump of systems that you don't want to bother invading. Let them culture flip -or- BOOM!

If you move the terror star from the resource, do you loose those abilities? I've always created a new starbase because I didn't want to lose what ever bonuses I had from the resources.
| |
Um, the resource is inside the terror star. They travel together. It is another old tactic to use terror stars to kidnap resources to move them to safer territory. |
Outstanding!! I guess I have something new to try!
