I'll be around for the night shift tonite.

(And are you afraid to go to sleep at night for fear that you will wake up and find yourself suddenly in the top 250 or worse?) |

littlewotts and myself when we can, usally take care of the nightshift in the Ravens Claw
If you press on my alias you will see how many games at maso will get you in the top 100.

Hey DAT! I've been playing since October. I played one game, submitted it, and then didn't play for 3 months. Once I started playing again, I joined the Guardians, and then started my crawl up to the top 100. I do worry about dropping out of it since I have not submitted a game in quite some time. I'm trying to change that now.
| |
|
MC, cool! So if I can ever work my way up to maso (which some of my soon-to-be-bretheren have accomplished in days, and which I hope to accomplish in months ), then the top 100 is still something achievable. (After seeing the pace that the guys at the top of the Metaverse have been setting--with multiple masos submitted every work day and many multiples on weekends--I was quite intimidated!)

Thanks guys. I can hardly wait to be an 'official' active member of the Guardians. (signing off)

It certaintly is acheiveable even if your not playing at maso. Getting into the top 50 or 25 though is a maso must these days. Maso is difficult at first but once you learn the diplomatic side of the game maso will become alot easier.(2 biggest things, watch the diplo screen and the realtions bar, and trade, trade, trade). We have a alot of info on maso strategy in our private forums that will help you out. It certainly helped me out when I joined. It took me about 10 attempts to beat maso. I got my butt handed to me on a plate untill I learnt a few ground rules. But most of all, play at what ever level you have fun at and enjoy yourself and dont worry about points to early on.

I look foward to it.

Holy cow! I step out for a little while and look what you guys do. Pages and pages and pages.
I think it was Magnu that grabbed #6000. Way to go!
As a Guardian Knight, I'll put my stamp of approval on DATarbell's membership into the Guardian Halls. I can not grant access, but I approve.
| |
|
So we have a Diplo Senator and a Guardian Knight saying yes. So I'll bet that you could register and nobody would say two words about it. You can already join the Guardians DATarbull, just to their empire and click join empire. Then you will be official.

I think he wants to wait until he is able to install the game.

By the way, I am actually having more trouble now with Maso than I did when I started. It seems that the new AP builds are significantly harder. I beat Maso on my first try at it, and now I can't win. It seems that the AIs have too big of an influence bonus for me to beat. My last game, which I quit because the Drath(whom I loathe) were about to declare war on me, I had no money and techs to bribe them with, because they were somehow ahead of me, despite the fact that I had 7 worlds on a small abundant map! Can I get some help? Nothing I do seems to do any good.

Yeah, I remember that, but I am offering the tempting option.
| |

I have had a little trouble with the Korx lately. They declare war on me but relations were at friendly the turn before. I agree that maso has gotten a little harder.

What victory method do you pursue?.

Im definatly not very diplomatic at the best of times. But if I wasn't a die hard Guardian loyalist the Diplomat's probably would be my next prefered empire for me

Can you join without the game? I didn't think so at first, but if DATarbell managed to create a user without one, I guess he could join an empire as well. I just thought it was all part of the "register the game to get the update" process.

I would probably get expelled after 2 days for Terror star alpha striking the Yor to oblivion after they came to me seeking refuge from the Greldonizer.
| |
|
Yeah, I like my TSs. Watching systems get blown apart makes me smile.

I was toying with the idea of seeing how far up the metaverse I could get without playing a maso game. Right now, top 100 is 146k, which seems achieveable if I can keep turning out 25k crippling games. Thoughts?

I don't know. If the Evil Empire were a little more lively...
Top 3 Empire choices as of right now:
Guardians (obvious)
Centurions (tough as nails)
Diplomats (great people)

|
Victory method: I usually go for alliance victories. I haven't won a true military since about normal level, and I always get behind in miliary techs and production. Most of the military wins in my name are culture bombing without culture win being turned on. I haven't tried that for a while, since before they changed the settings.

GH, I bet you could easily get into the top 100 with crippling wins. Check Marquesa. She was until recently in the top 100.
Lothmorg, I would have to agree exactly with your empires, but switch the Diplos to the top, Guardians second, and Centurions third. But I probably need to get further up for them to accept me.
