I haven't installed the latest patch, so no problems here.

I just went back to playing 1.20 until the fix comes in as I don't feel like editing any ini files.

I've got the latest patch and submitted a game with no problems last weekend. Must not be a problem for everyone.

Hello fellow members of the number 1 Empire in the metaverse!

Reading the Metaverse guidlines I need clarification.

6.)You may re-submit a saved game score 1 time.

Does this mean you can play the same game twice. I ask because I would like to reload my ealiest save of my last game and go for a military victory instead of an alliance.

Would I be doing it just for fun or can I upload the new score? If it is allowed would the tactic be considered cheesy and unworthy of a guardian.

You can reload and resubmit a game again. You can only submit the same game twice.

If it is within the rules is it a common practice to do this?

#6283  by Citizen Greldon - 4/1/2004 3:10:02 PM

If you get credit for the first submission, I don't think you can submit it a second time. (but I could be wrong)

I think you can, but just once after the first. I have read where others mention doing exactly as exalteddruid wants to do. And no, I do not think there are any "rules" about not doing it.

You can, but why to do it, when you can see the total points you are going to score before submitting the game? If the total is not what you think, you can reload and stretch the game until you win.

From the Metaverse Guidlines:

6) You may re-submit a saved game score 1 time. Let's say you started a game and saved it early on, because after all its a really good map, you play the game and at its conclusion you submit the game. After the game has ended you say to yourself "You know, I know I can do better than that!" so you decided to reload from that saved game and replay it to get a better score. At the end of the game you can resubmit the score for that game and your score for that game on the Metaverse will be updated. Once a game has been updated on the Metaverse it will not accept any more updates.

Oh! But you don't get credit for a new game, it just adds a little to the previous game's score.

Right! That could be a decent change coming off an alliance to a military victory though. I say go for it.

Yeah....and let us know how it works out.

So it sounds like it would just adjust the score for that game not show as 2 games.

#6291  by Citizen Greldon - 4/1/2004 3:24:56 PM

I always turn all the victory options off anyway.

That's the way I understand it and the way I've read about others using that feature.

Give it a try. I think it is worth the effort.

Yes, I will see what happens. Where can read more about the scoring system. I am playing on larger maps at highter level and my scores are not going up.

#6294  by Citizen Greldon - 4/1/2004 3:31:17 PM

Do a search for "scores" in the GF.

Congrats to Theoden and the Guardians for being the number one empire in total metaverse points.

I play a lot at the same levels you are on now. Your scores look in line. I know alliance wins are lower than military and culture is lower than alliance. Somewhere I saw someone post the multipliers, but I cannot remember.

I always turn off the culture win. I never get close to the tech anyway so I don't bother with it. I am satisfied with alliance or military. I will usually take the alliance win if it just seems like too much of a bother for me to complete a military win.

I never ally with the Yor though and always try to take them out myself. I hate it when they surrender to someone else.

I know the Yor Slayer doesn't ally with the Yor!
