Give them hell tommorow. There is nothing like smell of fresh dead Yor, first thing in the morning.

Hmmm, for "several" read "all", and instant loss

Hang in there Magnumaniac. At least know that it works the other way too. Game before last, the Fundies came along for me. They only took one system from me (of course it was SOL ), but they took out the entire Yor position. Just left me and the Altarians to settle things.

I commonly say Fundies are the primary reason most of the players in the Meta are good! (Of course, there are other reasons as well like enhanced trade routes, extra speed, and trade centers, but the Fundies are easy to blame for everything.) It actually can be a quite beneficial event if the player is not totally evil yet and has high morale on the most important planets. Then the reward is watching the evil aliens meltdown and have a major race or two turn into the holdings of a minor race that needs time to rebuild the war machine. This leaves ample opportunity for that stack of transports and warships one should ALWAYS have lurking around in reserve to take a planet or three for yourself! Sure, it can suck for it to happen at an inopportune moment such as right before claiming a win, but it makes for a good training scenario. Afterall, any aspiring tough guy vets of the Metaverse should welcome adversity and challenge. Going for the easy wins makes overlords soft.

I got my AP nonsubmission issue figured out. I uninstalled and restored the J version I am back in action and working on a game.

Good morning, all! Still wondering if any of you have any 'submission stragies' that your can share with me prior to tonight?!

Also, I've been preparing a 'gift' of sorts for my Galactic Guardian bretheren--upon my official membership, that is. (Just a bit of a teaser so that you guys can share a little bit of the anticipation that I am totally filled with!) I'll post it as soon as I'm in (Tonight? Tomorrow? Very soon now!)

Oh yeah, two more questions... First, there was a thread over in the Galactic Forum where someone mentioned a 'trick' that could be used to get an AI to trade Battle Ship. The poster invited anyone who wanted to know the trick to submit their e-mail address, and I did, but I haven't heard back. Can anyone here help me out? Second, wanted to confirm the 'order of events' for tonight: 1) install GalCiv, 2) register GalCiv including establishing my 'official' login handle, 3) update GalCiv (perhaps happens automatically at registration?), 4) play all night long! Does that order sound right, or am I missing something? (I just don't want to have these questions after all of you have gone to sleep--I mean, are too busy playing GalCiv!)

Littlewotts, oh, it's in there! You just have to know how to read between the lines: 1) install GalCiv (having fun!), 2) register GalCiv including establishing my 'official' login handle (oh yeah, having lots of fun!), 3) update GalCiv (having difficulty sitting still in anticipation of how much fun I'm about to have!), 4) play all night long! (OK, on that way you don't have to read between the lines! )

Oh no. Another one without a life outside of this place. Take some time off guys. Have fun without blowing something to hell. It really is nice. Just take a look at how often I get to play.

#6443  by Veteran Grand_Admiral_Thrawn - 4/3/2004 11:49:30 AM

Actually, I've got to go play. I'm threatening to slip out of the top.

#6444  by Citizen littlewotts_ - 4/3/2004 11:57:24 AM

I should go play too, but I can not concentrate today. Plus, I've got too much RL stuff to do.

DATarbell: When you are downloading the updates (if you have Altarian Prophecy) DO NOT download 1.49K as you will have submission problems. Download the 1.49J build, it's okay. If you don't have AP, just download everything and you'll be fine. Happy gaming!

This old man, he played BOOM!!!
