I had one maxed out once, and when enemu ships flew against it, they lost. Entirely not worth the effort, if you have enough ash to build one up that much you should have enough to build up a lot more TSs.

Anyone actualy max out TS and used it against ships in open space. How would it do? I have just used in Alpha strike. Minimum 5 constructors, boom and decommision.

It didn't actually let me attack ships. However, it does survive against a battleship or two attacking it when maxed out.

Does anyone understand the scoring of the meta?

Not completely, but I think if there is more time between postings you get more per game.

I had a 15 day break, and I got 35k point for a 60k game. Prior to that I was getting 9-11K a game.

I've been watching and trying to post as my old games fall into the next block. Twice I've waited until 12:01 am to post so far in the last week. Just that rbloom hasn't posted any games at all...

I don't even care. I just play when RL lets me play and submit it if I win. As long as it adds to the empire score I am happy. I can't figure out all the scoring rules so I just go with the flow....

Yep. I've got two stored games, and I plan to submit as soon as I get the new build.

I'd probably be happier if I could have more of that attitude, and to some extent I do. Just remember the old saw about "If winning doesn't matter, then why keep score?" Part of what has kept my interest up is in moving myself and the empire up the meta.

Don't get me wrong, I like moving up in the meta. I just can't bother with figuring out the scoring methods. As long as I go up in points I am happy.

The community on these forums and the activity within our empire makes the whole experience a great deal of fun.

That I can totally agree with

(Which is why I am spending this afternoon off work on the forum instead of killing Yor...)

I pay attention to where I stand on the Guardians page. Its all people your familiar with and its good to see how well they are doing. To many pages in metaverse to flip through for me. I do enjoy seeing our shield at number 1 and number 2 position in the entire metaverse though.

I agree. It's tough to land on page 16 and look at the players around you and not reconize any of the names. Then you start looking at their records and find out that none of them have even posted a game since August.

You have been making some nice progress yourself ED

The great thing is I continue to play the game in different ways with different tactics and that is so much fun. In the beginning I liked the concept of the game but it was a little overwhelming. Now I am haveing so much fun with it.

What Terl said. (Although I have to admit that now that I've got the game up and going--trying to survive my second one now--I'm finding it harder to keep up with the forums, both here and over at The Senate Halls.)

Well everyone here seems to have exactly the right attitude, you'd all do very well in a good empire like the Galactic Guardians.

Oops, this is our thread, no need to try the recruitment spiele in here.

As Greldon told me when I was a young whippersnapper in the lower reaches of the metaverse (ooh, all of a month ago)... "play for fun at the level you are comfortable with, and the points will take care of themselves."

Good advice, although some may still consider me to be in the lower reaches of the metaverse seeing as I'm not on the first page yet (a situation which I hope to remedy by this weekend).

You're all doing just fine, but if you submit a game during the third quarter of the moon's cycle, at precisely 11:58pm each night you get a nice score bonus.

That's why I read the forums at work and play when I get home We do ring up the posts though don't we?

Cool, I knew there was a trick to your success. Is that Eastern, Central or Pacific time.

Hello ED, LW, GH and Major!

Terror Stars can only attack planets. However, any of your ships in the area are enhanced by the modules you've added to the TS. I sometimes group (fleet) a Dred with a TS to protect the TS, and the TS enhances the ships' abilities. I hope that makes sence.

Wow. I did not know you could do that....

#6772  by Veteran Grand_Admiral_Thrawn - 4/6/2004 3:41:18 PM

Yeah. I like using culture stars, and making a little fleet out of 5 or 6 of them, with a few ships for defense against pesky aliens who think they should defend themselves.

#6773  by Citizen Evil Druid - 4/6/2004 3:42:35 PM

Can you do anything to get those TS's to move a little faster?

#6774  by Veteran Terl - 4/6/2004 3:42:58 PM

I like using culture stars

I like the fully weaponized ones, especially for the Yor They need to have the latest Greldonization beams aboard also.
