Hmmmmmm....it does look good though, but Im worried how long it will hold my interest for a game of that type. GalCiv on the other hand just keeps giving

Fair enough. Don't know if I'll be into it for long either, although I intend to at least give it a try.

BTW - Why Slayer MC?

I am getting Political Machine as soon as I can. The second it is on the net and I am at home, it will be on my computer with me giving it a test run. I have some intersting ideas of who I want to run with.

I don't know much about American politic's except for the basic's like Democrat and Republic party. Is there any other parties you can play. It would be funny if you could play some backwards redneck hill billy party.

I like it just fine. Just wondered if something prompted you for the change, or if there was a story to go with it.

I think a lot of players are already asking for that ability. Stardock is up against a hard deadline for release since this is a presidential election year for us. I think frogboy has said that it may come as a feature afterwords if the game is successful.

I'll probably download and try it out on Thursday. This past weekend would have been better for me. The next 2 weeks are likely to be very busy in RL for me. The company I work for is involved in posting election returns on the web for one of the counties in my state, and our primary is April 27th. Usually means several late nights at work for me.

Whew, "one more turn" kept me up til 3, but it was worth it! This game gave me a way better understanding of how the Aliens go about their business, which helped a lot with my research and builds. I was playing for the Alliance victory, but almost lost it, when the Torian's decided I was a likely target for expansion, luckily the Drath and Altarians were so in awe of my Empire they took out the Torian fleet, and left me the puir wee planets. After that it was a race for the final tech with the Altarians, a wee bit of gifting, and DING!

Congrats to ED, excellent!

(phoooff)

Wow! Look at the size of that one!

(bip)

Secretly, I was hoping for a deafening explosion.

(from a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon where Calvin is blowing soap bubbles)

Well all, I finally finished my weekend game! (Deep sigh, heavy emotion.) And yes, I had more than secretly hoped for a louder explosion! (Time to move up to AP! )

Morning Guardians!

WTG Bonscott! Nice game.

GTR, nice one aswell. Learning how the AIs operate is the key to finding their weaknesses and how to slap them around at the higher difficulty levels.

Secretly, I was hoping for a deafening explosion.

I love Calvin & Hobbes. Major, I'm not sure what difference AP makes to scores below maso level, but it certainly makes a big difference there. The only gigantic I ever played was on 1.2 at maso, and if I'd got less than 60K for all that effort I'd have been well p*ssed for sure. Still AP is a lot of fun, so worth getting regardless of the scores.

Greldon, are you listening... Political Machine is going to be an awesome game, you should get it straight away and completely delete GalCiv from your hard drive as you'll never want to play it again. Ever. Till the end of time. And a bit longer. OK!

Hmmm, might work. Now what to do about Lothmorg....

Tell him to go break something, preferably something that will take at least 3 months.

Or send him Voyager,TNG, and BSG, that will keep him occupied for a while.

Good plan MC! Might just work, 3 months might even be enough to catch up if he doesn't submit.

A short scene from a Yor western.....

"Marshal N-1, Marshal N-1! I heared tell Greldon is a-comin' on the noon train."

"Hmm, that fleshling has been naught but trouble in these here parts. His bulls have been a-Greldonizin' all my cows. I'll deal with 'im once and for all."

"He's in the saloon, Marshal N-1. Call him out!"

"Hey, you, Greldon! C'mon outta there and face me fleshling."

Greldon comes out of the saloon, a mini-greldonizer strapped to his hip. He moseys out to the center of the dirt road running through town. "What'll it be Marshal? A shot to the head or a nice one to the gut?"

"Fleshling, these lands belong to the Yor cattleman."

"Enough talk you mechanical piece of trash." BOOM

~credits roll with song~

Do not forsake me oh my darlin'
Just shoot the stinkin' Yor.....

Barry Maguire reporting to N-1

The eastern worlds, they are explodin'
Greldonized. They just are poofin'
Space dust floats around the sectors
We all are doomed we shall be vapors

Tell me, over and over, my friend
We are on the eve of destruction

In his terror star

When it all goes Boom
